Hey guys,

I recently removed my blown ball bearing fp black (oil feed line from head, with a oil restrictor from fp) on my evo 9, running twin oil coolers. and fitted on a fp black journal bearing model, fp recommends only drawing oil from oil filter housing as the oil pressure from head is not enough to sustain a journal bearing turbo. i bought a oil feed line made by extremepsi, that came with no restrictor (recommended by the turbo builder Chris Robbins from Turbosrus, no restrictors, full oil flow, their turbos are amazing!!!). Installed everything, car feels good, spools fast af, and boosts amazing. But i realized my defi oil pressure sensor reads lower than before, about 0.4bar (6psi) lesser overall. Previously, at warm engine, wot, full boost, oil pressure would hit 7.6 (110psi) bars, now it would hit 7.2-7.3 bars (104-105psi) instead. Idle with warm engine 85 celcius (185f) oil temp, it would idle at 2.2 bars (32psi) of oil pressure, whereas previously it was 2.6 bars (37psi) of oil pressure. Is it normal due to more oil going to the turbo? The defi oil pressure sensor is right beside the oil feed line at the oil filter housing.

Or am I just getting paranoid because I used to see high numbers? It's a newly built 2.2L full manley internals with GSC S2 cams.

Sounds like you still have plenty of oil pressure, I wouldn't worry about. You made a decently large change in how much oil the turbo gets. So its plausible that is the small change you're seeing.

Over 100psi is great pressure.
