Need Help On Boost Guage Install

I need to know which wire to tap in order for the boost guage light to dim with the instrument cluster when the headlights are turned on. I read a while back that it is suppose to be a white wire with a green stripe. Can anyone confirm this? BTW, the guage will be installed on the steering column if that's going to make a difference. Thanks in advance.

I wired mine into the dimmer switch. But I never dim the lights so I am not sure which wire will do it. I think you are correct though. Try it. f it doesn't work it is the other wire. The dimmer switch has 3 wires. Trial and Error.

Which wire did you tap in your install? So that in this case, I only have 2 wires to worry about.

Provide power to the gauge bulb and put the ground on the black/yellow wire.

The dimmer varies the resistance to groud, it does not supply the power to the bulbs.

Edit: Easiest thing to do is use the Green white wire for power. That way the light turns on with the lights and Dims with them too.

I don't know. I just figured that it will be less work if I tap into a wire close to the steering column since I will be installing the guage pod on it.
