Recommended First Part

Hey Guys, I am a new evo owner, and also new to this forum, i was recommended to come here from a friend because i was looking for answers. I was about to buy the HKS Carbon TI as my first part, but then i wanted to ask some experts on what do they recommend i do first to the evo. I'm seeking something that can give me a decent hp boost for a price around $800-$1200.

Note: I'm sorry if this is a re-post or if this doesn't belong in the right topic, please move if needed.

Thanks in advanced guys.

My first mod was ... a new stereo and speakers!!!

I'm saving my pennies to go with a Vishnu Stage 1 upgrade and a wideband O2 sensor. However, if you want to do a step by step approach then either a new exhaust or engine management (piggyback/flashed ECU/etc.) is probably a good first choice. Lastly, if you're going to take it to the track, then spend your money on a driving school as your first "performance mod".

first of all, Have fun with your new Evo.

If you would like to notice a defrence in power just get a 3" turbo back and an air Intake because the turbo loves Air flow

Get a boost controller and boost gauge. That's what I did. A turboback exhaust would be good as well.

you want the look and handling, go for coilover or spring with some 18s,
want power, boost controller first, fuel control then turboback, etc...
want 0~60 ft timing, go for better clutch,
want factory warranty, go for better speakers and lcd screen.
hope this helps,...

A new seat should be the first mod, I cant even begin to explain how great a new seat is like a sparco competition fixed back seat.

I think the first mod for everybody should be a boost gauge. Even if you just go with the cheap Autometer gauge.

da EVO

Throw in (for a few pennies) a set of shifter bushings and a tranny and diff fluid change. That's been the most useful 1st mod I've done to the EVO yet. I went with the Brass Underhood bushings and some PolyUrethanes in the shifter box. I've heard good things about the Amoeba Kartboy parts ... you can't go wrong with doing a shifter upgrade.

Enjoy!

Later,

jcnel.
