You should have covered all electric and spark plugs before you wash your engine to avoid water getting in these areas

There's probably still water in there somewhere. I say pull the plug wires out and let it sit for a day to dry out.

I agree with RaleighEVO. It's best to cover up the distributor and spark plugs/wires when spraying off your engine.

Get some WD-40 (wd=water displacement) spray it into the all the electrical connection and let it sit for a little bit. That will dry it good. Ive done this before ,but I didnt rely spray the engine water directly.

Skip to my loo? Its HAPPY! I would park it in the sun with the hood open and let it sit for a few hours.

i had hydrolock in my lancer by means of the cold air suckin in water and the motor didn't idle smoothly, the motor "skipped" and stalled. a crap load of carbon build up was on my exhaust. see if you have the same symptoms. i would take off the valve cover and blow dry everything until there isn't any water. careful though, i dunno about the evo's valve cover, but the lancer's cover is three layers of pressed aluminum and the water sits in between those layers. so even if it looks and feels dry, there is still water. good luck to you and hope the same thing that happened to me doesn't happen to you.
