Twin Turbo on the Evo???

I started watching the second season of Initial D yesterday, and Takumi (the hero) is going up against a racing team of Evos. The characters start praising the Evo, and mention that it has a "Twin turbo". What the??? I thought the Evo just had a big 16G? Why would you twin turbo a 4G63? Were the show's writers smoking crack?

probably not stock trim. Why wouldn't you add another turbo?

Because it's a 2.0L 4 cylinder?

In the show they were implying that the twin turbo was stock, and I just wanted to verify that this is not the case.

no, it's not stock, and no it doesn't make sense to twin turbo it. Even supras are much faster with 1 bigger turbo.

It has something to do with 2 stage turbo or something. The question has been answered on the forums though.

The Lancer isn't TT by any means but the turbo is what has been referred to as "twin scroll". Run a search for the term and it'll bring up your answer.

I think the question you MEAN to say is....why WOULD they add another turbo?? There's no point to it on an inline 4 cylinder....

1 or 2?

Don't know if this is a misprint or not, but the spec box on this modified EVO claims twin turbo, but the text surounding it doesn't go into any detail.

RS450

Big turbos on Supras usually mean tremendous power, but lots of lag, perhaps a very fast/quick track car, but a chore around town. Maybe this EVO has two relatively small quick spooling units.

Stage 2, Episode 2, I think. There's a big story arc about the LanEvo racing team in the first several episodes, which is cool. Too bad the drivers are mostly jerks I still have to root for my fellow 4G63 racers

I know the translation is off sometimes in the episodes. Maybe the translator changed "turbo" to "twin-turbo"? There's also a few different copies of these floating around, so maybe you saw ones with different captions than the episode I have at home.

Yea I think pjal84 is right, I bet the translation got a bit confused between 'twin-scroll turbo' and 'twin turbo'. Have to figure the translators maybe aren't terribly into cars and didn't see a difference.

www.dvdexpress2u.com
or
www.getvcds.com

now if you're talking about free, then i don't know... kazaa, imesh?

but anywho, got the whole 1st stage for about $50, as well as the 2nd stage. their prices are per dvd, not exactly by amount of episodes. and they're supposedly supposed to be licensed dvds and not bootlegs. based in malaysia and all region dvds.
