Funny Fuel Problem...

Here goes....

Last time I filled up my tank with gas a strange thing happened. I filled up before leaving for a 1-hour trip home. Filled up all the way. BUT, the needle on the fuel gauge only rose to halfway between full and 3/4 full. So I figured the pump prematurely cut off. When I get home I fill it up again to be sure. It was as full as it would get before gas started spilling out. Needle still only rose to halfway between full and 3/4 full. After 2 days of driving, the needle rose to the full line. (It usually rises until it's a little bit above the full line). Over the past week, while driving around, the needle has fluctuated between the full mark and the 3/4 full mark. I'm guessing it's something to do with the sensor in the tank that measures how much fuel is remaining. I'm wondering though, is the sensor on the fuel pump? My fuel system is all stock except for a Walbro pump. Could the pump be the cause? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

you might have bent the arm of the float in the gas tank that read how much gas is in there

Mine also just did this yesterday. I have stock fuel pump never touched it at all. I will try resetting the Ecu with a battery disconnect tomorrow and see if that works

I think in one of the Walbro install guides here on EvoM it mentions being careful not to bump the fuel level float when you reinstall the pump. Not sure what it could be on a stock Evo.

I thought about that, but the only thing is I have had the Walbro pump installed for almost 6 months. It has been perfect until last week. It came out of nowhere. I don't know what else it could be.....
