Shift out at 6200 and it will go in easy.

Give a slight pause in moving the shifter when you get into neutral. Gives the syncro's a chance to spin up before engaging 2nd.

Buy new shifter bushings. Also pick up the under the hood ones as well. This will help a lot.

I can't say it will fix it 100% because I never really had a problem shifting. It just feels so much better will above listed mods. http://www.lancershop.com/clutch.htm

shift right at 7k, it will go in....a little under or over and it will get tricky. Alot of it is mental and I had this problem also. Not saying to jam it in but use a little force...it will go dont be afraid to drive the car...

I have the same problem... seems like many people have this issue as well. I personally think it was a design flaw. I have the bushing.... no fixie.. have not tried the clutch line yet. The remedy for me is I don't rev it pass 5K before shifting to 2nd. When I hear the grind it just kills me. If you find something that works for you please let us know. Thanks

I shift at 7500 or moore without any problem. I'm using Redline MT90 as well.
Make sure before you shift, don't put any pressure on the shifter until you have pressed the clutch pedal in fully. I know for myself, my hand moves bit faster than my leg and that causes shifting problem from 1-2.

My thoughts exactly. Even the slightest pressure (hand resting on shifter) may mis-align the cones in the synchronizer. Also, be sure to stomp the clutch pedal all the way before shifting.
