Question Do I need a fuel pump if the only mods are........................................

I was just wondering if anyone has had to upgrade the fuel pump if the only mods done were the intake and full exaust (downpipe & cat delete)???? I have not installed the mods yet so if I need to do this I want to do it all at once. Thanks

as long as you aren't turning up the boost any more you should be fine. If you add a boost controler or get a reflash you really should get a pump and consider a fuel pressure regulator so you can get consistant performance.

if your going to keep on getting mods for your car then you would get one but if your not, you not really need one

The opposite may be true as well. Remember, the point of a boost controller is to control the boost. Sometimes if you upgrade the intake and exhaust, the stock boost controller doesn't work as well, and you end up boosting higher than you think. That said, stock it runs pig rich and handles 19psi, and hits fuel cut before it's flowing high enough really to kill anything, so I wouldn't worry about it with the mods you listed. If you get an ECU reflash or a piggyback and start hitting higher boost levels, I would say it's a no-brainer to upgrade your fuel. That's my $0.02 as an amateur know-it-all.

I agree with what has been said thus far. If you up the boost, at least get the pump. It's cheap and very easy to install. I reccomend Gruppe-S for a vendor to grab it from...
