If you scroll to the very bottom, you will see one particular recall for the EVO, and one recall only.

2003 Mitsubishi LANCER 03 - Manual Transmission > POWER TRAIN : MANUAL TRANSMISSION [Part 102000 ]
TSB No: 0322001 NHTSA ID: , November 01, 2003 : Replacement:
Summary: newly configured 5th gear synchronizer sleeve for 2003 lancer evolution manual transmission. *ph
ALSO notice at the bottom of THIS TSB it SAYS EVOLUTION
Find the article in road and track show them that and tell them that They replaced that one under warranty after the KNEW they drove it hard. I think theirs had like 35000 miles on it too. Raise hell its your right to have that replaced (permitting you didn't actually beat hhe hell out it it. I doubt you did stock clutch and all) If they give you crap about mods make sure you tell them they have to prove that the mods are a direct result of the failure.

hmmm. . . you're right, it does say Lancer Evolution for the 5th gear synchro. I wonder why the recall on the very BOTTOM says LANCER EVOLUTION, while all the ones above it just say LANCER.
I also wonder why the 5th gear synchro recall is mixed in with a bunch of regular lancer recalls.
whoever was typing that list may have gotten it wrong, and that may also be the reason why dealers aren't pulling up that recall when they look for recalls on the EVO

Mitsu Regional Reps reply
You guys won't believe this crap! I just got off the phone with the Regional Warranty Rep and she stated that because of my "Pop off" valve(excuse me Miss 30 year Rep, it is a Manual Boost Controller!) and slamming the gears, that my car will not be covered under warranty. In asking her what parts she looked at to make this determination, she stated the clutch, flywheel, and the gears. I futher asked if she looked at the throwout bearing and the fork, she skirted that issue quickly and just stated that her final answer is it will not be covered and to call the 1-800 number for arbitration, then promptly hung up on me! Can you believe this!!!!
So now my car has been at the dealership since June 8th, and still in pieces! And the arbitration can take at least 3 weeks, so no car or decision until then!
Mitsu sucks!!!! I am trading my car or selling it as soon as I get it fixed, I can't and will not support a company that does not stand by the very people who keeps their company afloat!
