just a word of advise. There are a ton of people on the forum that can help and give their insight on what combo to go with. But don't make your decision based on one or two ppls info. Each person may have different mods to go with the cams and unless you don't know all the details, you can't say which combo will work for you. i would suggest that the best would be to go with what your local tuner recommends. After all they're the one's who are going to tune your car.

no one has mentioned it , but you can get mad results by switching the combo as well, 272/264 instead.

two evo owners i know personally went with 272/272 with stock turbo. never stalls. idle is a slight bit higher than stock but definitely an improved throttle response on the top end.

I had the HKS 264/264 cams on my 94 Talon AWD with a small 16G. The cams idled like a stocker and the torque was great from down low to the top end. Driveability was greatly improved around town. When the time comes to upgrade my cams on my Evo, I'm definitely going with the 264/264 cams.

If you want the equal of both worlds go with the 264in and 272ex, the intake side of the 4g63 flows better than the exhaust side so this will even out power and you will not have any dirveablity problems plus you will still get low torque and great top end compairable to a straight 272 setup. Just my 02.

I have run both 264/264 and 264/272 cams in my Eclipse, and I haven't noticed a damn bit of difference between them with my Evo III 16G setup. They idle the same, they give the same power, same airflow. All the same.

With a larger turbo, it might make a difference. But not with a 16G, from what I can see.

So if you port the head and run the stock turbo would you be better off with 264 or 272 on the exhaust side?

Thus the varying reviews Can't go wrong either way.

I have the 264/272 - feels great!

i would get some good cams from JUN, Tomei or even better Piper. there is a thread on here that give you the duration, peak lift at lift at 1mm (when the air starts to flow). cant remember what the thread is called but it is very helpful. if you HAVE to go with HKS then go for the 272's you may as well!

i will get hammered for this bescause i know there are many people out there that like these cams but there are better cams on the market. just coz everyone is using HKS dosent mean that they are the best. look around and see what else you can get for your money.

my choice would be a set of Piper Rally cams (11.5mm lift on inlet and exhaust, 265 degrees duration and 217 duration at 1mm). very good spool up on stock or modded turbo. not too hard to set up with the right stuff. and tried and tested! what more could you ask for (apart from lower prices and better avalibility coz we all want that)?

just my thoughts, Chris.

From what I have read. I get the Idea that the JUN, Tomei, and piper are better for a bigger turbo. I have been researching cause I am interested in getting some cams very soon.
As far as price goes I have not found any piper or Jun cheaper than I can get HKS. If am wrong please point me somewhere I can get them for cheaper.
I have no prefrence in brand I just want something that will give me good power without having to buy a bunch of other harware also(springs, reatiners, etc...).
