The Magnaflow is a muffler option, not a cat option. The Magnaflow has a larger can offering more sound dampening material. Our standard lightweight muffler is very small and doesn't keep the exhaust as quiet. I wouldn't expect any loss in power with the Magnaflow muffler, it is still straight through 3".

The system in the magazine that was dyno'd was our lightweight standard Buschur Racing muffler that we actually build for the systems.

As for a file with the sound from 0-100, we have no equipment here for doing that type of thing. If you do a search on here you will find someone that has done it, it is a really nice blue EVO that has our exhaust, real quality sound clips too. Not sure where I saw it, try the search.

Thanks,

David Buschur

They have two different systems. Their fabricator makes the signature exhaust, which is the higher priced one. The TaipanXP is the standard one that I have, and is Australian according to their website.

Here is who was tested in the magazine and beside it is any clue I can give you on what they call their system:

5Zigen-Mircale Fire 5-Zigen
Billy Boat-PT#FPIM-2005
Borla-Pt#140056
Buschur Racing-EVO SCCA Legal Catback
DC Sports-SCS EVO VIII
Mackin Industries-Gram Light Exhaust
Gruppe-S Engineering-SUS Series exhaust
HKS USA-30th Anniversaray Hi-Power exhaust system
Magnaflow-Magnaflow Ti

Hope this helps you guys figure it out.

Might have to do that. I went to Borders and Barnes & Noble over lunch and confirmed that neither of them carry it. Sucks.

Yep, you are correct, 70mm is what the Gramlight is. The Magnaflow Ti is 80mm, just over 3".

Question Dumb question

I'm assuming you can get a 3" Buschur cat-back and it will mate up to the stock cat? I'm wondering because I'll probably have to piece together a full turbo-back, and just can't figure out how a 3" cat-back fits with an existing cat that is made for a smaller diameter system.

The Buschur Racing "SCCA legal" cat back includes an adaptor to go from the 3" cat back pipe to the stock CAT.

You can buy the SCCA legal Buschur catback and it will mate right up to the stock cat perfectly.

I wish busher muffler looked better than I would be all over it. Its quite ugly in opinion and magnaflow muffler is not what I am putting on my import. Its for domestics.

What's in a name? This is a performance car with practicality over style throughout. It is a no-holds-barred performer with a chincy interior, etc. So I was thinking "why in the heck would you be so biased about a name?". Just ignore your preconcieved notions of what "magnaflow" means and you've got the best exhaust there is. It's stupid to avoid a part that works well, just because of the name.

...then I realized...I'd never have Sparco anything because I associate the name with cheap Checker Auto Parts crap and I hate the name 'cuz it just sounds so chincy and cheap. Oh well. So much for pointing the finger at you

Does the Buschur "SCCA legal" cat back adapter taper down where it connect to the stock cat? I'm thinking about buying it but i have a 3" UR test pipe and i don't want it to tapper.

What the heck? In addition to Buschur, TurboXS, Vishnu Signature, among MANY other quality exhausts all use Magnaflow mufflers. Get off your JDM high horse and realize that Magnaflow mufflers are among the best made anywhere.
