Service engine soon

I got the light after i installed my boost guage. I drove the car the first 5 min and i got the right readings. However, after 5 min I got wrong PSI readings then i knew that the hose for the Boost gauge that i connected to the vacume line right next to the throtle body is snapped so I checked for leaks in the hose and I found one right behind the boost guage it self. Now I got service engine like. I just can't imagine how sensitve our ECU's are. I mean my question is: Do you guys think I got that light because of the leak?? I will get a reading on it today from Auto zone anyways

Thanks

Yes that temporary vacum leak would trip the CEL. Just reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery for 5 minutes then step on the break pedal for about 20 seconds, make sure the key is not in the ignition. Everything should be fine after that.

Yea - get the code pulled just to be sure.
From your tag line it looks like you been doing more than installing a boost guage; you never know.

I would get the code pulled, also. There's no way of knowing what is going wrong without doing that.

You are right. However, I drove the car for more than 700 miles with no engine check light. Once I installed and played with the boost gauge I got engine check light
