Black Sensor Under Intake Mani???

hey fellas i have a question;

right under i say 2-3 inches under the intake manifold is a black sensor, it's kinda a circle with a nipple top i guess you can say with a conector on the right side. what i need to ask if tis is a MAF sensor or a form of o2 sensor?

they reason why i ask is because when i was driving my IC clap came lose while driving so i came to a complete stop, check engine light came on so i reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for a minute or 2 then it was fine but now when the car turns off i get a little clicking sound from that sensor. i want to fix it myself 'cause i really don't trust dealers, ya'll know why.

so if anybody could help i would appreciate it, thanxs fellas.

At a guess, it could be the knock sensor, as I remember seeing that the knock sensor is somewhere under the intake manifold.

But if it's clicking, sounds more like some kind of solenoid.

Do you have a pic of it ? Where do you stand / position yourself to see it best ?

LOL...fan relay

i actually len over from the drivers side, side fender. it's clicking when the car shut's off. it's not loud but i can here it.
see i was wondering since it happened when the hose came off when i was going from 3rd to 4th gear then i heard a loud pop. it was loose i guess from the factory (or my 20.1psi kicked it out...lol) but either way i checked everything, the car runs perfect except for that little sound coming from that sensor. i was wondering if it was a MAF sensor since the lost of air when the hosing came off?

Do you mean the intake pipe and airbox, or intake manifold behind the engine... it will make a difference in the answer I can offer..

sounds like knock sensor... and i highly doubt the click is comming from there...

whose head was placed by that sensor when the car was started if its only an initial click its prob the starter solinoid. IC pipe falling off won't do anything to bamage a sesor... just kill the car. I've seen a few pipes blow off various cars and they start right back up after reinstalling even with no ecu reset.....

it's intake manifold behind the engine. it's a little clicking sound and it's coming from that sensor right below the intake mani. i also notice it's giving off when i rev up but it is coming from that sensor. i took the intake piping off and listen to the car for like 15 mins till i found that sound coming from that sensor. i turned my turbo timer off so i can shut off and on the car to make sure and i even put my finger on a start up to see and sure enough i felt the clicking sound coming from there.
i'm trying to get my boy's digi cam so i can post pic but can't get a hold of him. but if i find a pic of it i'll try to show it.
thanx fellas for the help, this is really bothering me. i know it's alittle clicking i can live with but i like my in tip top shape.

in the second pic of his engine shot, the sensor i'm talking about is right under where the intake manifold & and the intake piping meet. on the pic the black hose in this case would be right above the sensor.
i'm trying to get a better pic but if anybody could take a pic of their driver side intake manifold right below the intake hose and piping it would help me alot. but i's still trying to get a hold of my boy's digi cam.

p.s. thanks gofaster87 for the use of the pics and the thread.
