uhhh, i think people assume we live in a vacuum.. don't forget the drag coefficient If you don't understand what i'm talking about stick ur head out the window at 160 mph.. you'll soon figure it out.

oh my clutch doesnt slip so it wasnt slipping... the 600cc bike that was with me tops out at 160 than falls off and i was wayyyyyy ahead of him.... and im sure the speedo is inaccurate at those speeds + all the other variable such as drag and whatever.... im looking for anyone with similar experiences w/ gps for proof... this theoretical stuff just means nothing... its like having a 700rwhp supra and all u do is run 12s all day instead of 9s

You will hit some sort of terminal velocity and the car just won't go any faster than the power you have to push it.. Aerodynamics plays a huge role.. but in theory you should have been going around 180 or just under..

There's another way.. look for a radar trap..

check out delorme or magellin.. both have devices that are used for navigation, but they have other devices that can be used for calculating course and speed.. all the software I've worked with will tell you your speed too.. I'd say you'd hit terminal velocity on this car at around 176mph or so.. so thats my guess..

Aero drag or a head or tail wind has no effect on calculating speed based on rpm x rollout. It will only have an effect on how many rev's your car will pull in a particular gear. If 8000 revs in 5th calculates out to 200 mph, that is what it is.

drag ratio has nothing to do with rpm-speed correlation. PERIOD however, it does factor in whether or not you can actually attain that speed. also, terminal velocity plays no factor also unless the car is free-falling. top speed is either determined by an ECU controlled speed limited or drag limited, where the car's power is equal to the drag force.
