Cool! That almost sounds like some disimilar metal corrosion between the aluminum of the MBC body and the steel spring. Might not hurt to shoot just a tad of WD40 in there.

I'd like to check out your upgrade if we both meet up at the Crossroads meet in Springfield sometime. Maybe in a couple of weeks. How did you tune for the new turbo?

i got it to hold boost ! it was the boost controller however now i have the issue that the aftermarket BOV i'm using (Turbosmart) starts futtering on acceleration... (PoS) anyway, it spikes up to like 23, and then in a split second it drops to 20 and holds.

yeah thanks dave, should it be spiking to ~23 or is that how long it takes for the wastegate to open? its like a split second it jumps up then goes down to 20.

The spike is more than likely in the boost controller. That BR440 kit hits pretty hard, so as long as it is a split second I wouldn't worry about it.

yeah i wasn't too worried about it, and i figured it might be the hallman... i'm gonna end up getting a new one, and yes the 440 hits hard as hell

after i fixed the BC issue last night, and test drove it, it was boosting to 23 psi, but i think that the spring might have gotten some "memory" from teh stock setup i have before, so i might just put in a new hard spring from hallman, and see how that effects it.

But the difference from 15 psi to 20 is huge

That turbo spool up is super nice, not much more lag than stock at all.

What all is done to your car? I looked through our database here and see the full exhaust, just wondering what else you have.

272's, arp head studs, your amazing turbo, full 3" TB, hallman bc, hks racing suction. thats the basics, i know i need to ditch the intercooler pipes and the intercooler, and i think thats my next upgrade.

Spool is amazing there is 10 PSI at 3000 and then full flowing hard hitting 20+psi at 3500

man alot of issues popping up with these BR turbo kit installs but seem to have nothing to do with the turbo kits themselves.

Which Turbosmart BOV are you using?
