great to hear the speedy repair Meta

I'm sure you now have a much stronger Evo.

btw....did Buschur find out what cause the engine failure when they took apart your engine?

like Kevo said....sign up Watkins Glen, it's a power track, it's designed for EVO

(Let me know after you signup and paid, I can get you 10% discount back)

good luck and have fun with the new Evo

You didn't mention a new crank, so you stayed with 2.0L, and did you lower the compression ratio?

Stock crank, not stroked and the stock compression ratio too.

JD will have to post pictures of the pistons that came apart.

Sorry, I've been driving the car and getting brakes/alignment back to normal for some racing.
It really runs awesome, it pulls extremely hard for the minor modifications it has (Buschur Stage 1). I need to get some new brake pads asap though, these Carbotech's are unstreetable.

The Motor was broken in with the Moto-man break-in method, ie. Don't take it easy. I'm using AMS OIL 10W-30, I might switch to AMS OIL Series 2000 20W-50 for racing.

The Engine
New Gaskets
New Belts
Flushed Oil Cooler
Kevlar Timing Belt
Buschur JE 9.0:1 Pistons (Stock Bore)
Buschur Eagle Rods (Modified in several ways)
New Mitsubishi Bearings
ARP Hardware

The Head
Minor porting
Buschur 1MM Oversize Valves
Milled

I'll post a picture of my blown piston whenever I'm free.

I wouldn't use 20w50 with any head using hydraulic lash adjusters and an OE specification of 10w30.

let's see some pics of the fragged pistons! I can host.

ColinL PM me your email, I'll send you some full quality pictures and you compress and host them.

And you're my online buddy now? Can't we have some dumb argument online? I'll start, "What are you implying with saying I can't use 20W-50, huh, I see what your trying to say! You think I'm an idiot!"

I meant pictures or specs of the new engine, not what was done, but a blueprint sheet, how were the rods modified in many ways out of curiosity?

You will have to ask David those questions, I don't know if he let's out all the information regarding his Rod's either.

darkhorse,

I snuck into your shop and found all your notes and just built the engine the way you would have.
