David Buschur get's in done in 2 weeks! New Shortblock, New Head, New Tune!
I was wondering why my stuff was moved around, and the door was left ajar. So you found my stack of napkins and matchbooks that have all my data scribbled on them- bastard! But you missed the all important notes, the ones that are written on the back of my hand
And the issue is not with the security in my shop. I was asking to see what you got, what did you pay for, what work was done, what were the specs. Maybe see if there are things that I may be able to learn from you? I thought this forum is for sharing information. And I am trying to keep this thread on topic, why are you avoiding the question I asked?
I put all my stuff up for people to see and gladly answer any questions on it. Yet, again, when **** comes to shove, all I get from your camp is jest, no hard data, no pictures, just some basic retort that reminds me of high school.
So to steer us back onto topic- you built the motor, what was done? Whats the problem with just answering the question.

Funny, funny, funny shiet! Why would Buschur show anyone any bluprint sheets if in fact I beleive that there are no secrets or advantages to building a reliable and strong block. You bore, clean, mic everything 2 x, check ring clearance/gaps, piston clearances, bearing clearances, lay everything out and put the thing together. Im sure the pistons and rods are already balanced as a set, and the crank is probably left alone being that they are so strong and very close to being perfectly balanced. I doubt there are any "secrets" that Buschur has, its all in how accurate, clean and proud you are when building a block.

Anyhow, I don't want this to turn into a mess. So, let's keep it simple. David helped me out quite a bit, 2 weeks turn around and gave me a great deal (don't ask what I paid, it's none of your business). As for the specifications, I have no idea, I didn't pay for a spec sheet. I paid for an engine with David Buschur's name behind it. John Mueller of Road Race Engineering also recommended David's engines to me. It has the best components (within reason, no titanium rods
) will withstand anything I throw at it on a road course or drag strip. There is no piston slap (or any that I hear). The first shop I called laughed at me when I said, "What are the chances of me getting my engine together in two weeks?"
I'm sure I could have spent $10,000 on the engine if I wanted to and had a spec sheet that showed everything was within 0.00000001 of an inch, but that does me no good. I could have sent it out to have all this done, let the car sit in some shop for 6 months, and I could talk about how fast my car is on the forums. But instead I chose an affordable method that had me racing in two weeks. I won't be doing the 24 Hours of LeMans so I'm not that concerned with the 0.0001 tolerances instead of the 0.00000000001 tolereances.

wait, can't this question be somewhat answered?
I realize metaphysical got a special deal on both pricing and timeliness. good for him and bravo for buschur racing. the particulars of that deal don't matter one bit to me, because I don't need an engine and I really am not that curious just for knowledge's sake. sounds like both parties are happy about the result.
I think David could've supplied the MSRP for everyone else's potential benefit though. fishing around a bit on the buschur website, I see an Evo stage 3 shortblock retails for $3000. I don't see an Evo stage 2 head but I see stage 3 is $1600 for Evo and DSM, and stage 2 for DSM is $1200. so maybe it's safe to assume the MSRP of the parts listed in the first post is about $4200.
obviously labor is quoted per job. so what more needs to be said?

I'll be using the Derekdevises(.com) kit. It's methanol safe and is controlled by the AEM EMS, best system on the market bar-none. If you want to run a T88 on full boost on pump gas, you can do it with this system.
