Tranny?

Hey guys, Im a newbie! I finally got my EVO!! Been wanting the car for so long and now i finally got it. I only have one concern which my fellow WRX owners mentioned to me. I have a 2004 EVO and my concern which was also on my previous car(WRX) was the tranny. Is there or has there been a lot of tranny problems with the EVO? (Hope not!) I hope its not the same issue that i had with my Rexes tranny. Is the tranny realiable?, and for how much WHP and WTQ is it good for? Thanks, sorry for so many questions!!

well, just like the WRX, if you abuse the transmisison, it will eventually fail. your mileage will vary. IMHO, just like the WRX, those who are having tranny problems are treating the EVO just like those WRX owners who had similar tranny problems...

Try searching, this issue has been discussed to death.

oh yeah. hey alice, welcome to the other side of the looking glass

i had a wrx and the transmission seemed top notch. my evo on the other hand has the bad 5th gear synchro, it doesn't grind during normal driving so its not an immediate problem. but i have to admit that in my experience the wrx transmission is better.
