To bump Zeus's question, I currently have a Helix DP and RT HF cat with Bushur AB. They sent me the AB by mistake, since I actually ordered the muffler delete, but I'd like to replace the stock IP and Buschur AB with a full 3", but I don't want it too loud.

I'm leaning towards the Helix for price and since I'm happy with the DP. ALso, it comes with a silencer, but I wouldn't be really want to drive around too much with it, although it's a nice backup.

I actually got a ticket for "altered exhaust" with just the AB (even before HF Cat and DP), also I want to keep a low profile (I have a baby seat, baby shades, and no wing ). I did beat the ticket though, and recommend anyone fight their ticket as well...

Sorry for babbling, is the Helix not "too" loud? I did hear the clip from awhile back but some subjective (or even objective ) info would be nice.

Take care,

Fujitsubo seems to be what vendors were telling me when I was looking for an exhaust. I went with the JGT500 though.

I have a B&B exhaust as well, but after I put my new turbokit in with the o2 elim, it's been considerably louder.

RMR's is quite quiet.

Who makes the o2 eliminator. I had an HRC on my Eclipse but now I have bought this Helix Race o2. I am assuming this is not the same thing. I really wanted an o2 eliminator, I just didnt know they made one.

Thanks for the tip on the turbo kit. I would think the turbo spool would chop the noise and the possible increase in loudness would have been the larger O2 eliminator.

RnR's turbokits come with a new 3" 02 elim downpipe, but they also sell one for stock turbos.

I'm hoping a friend will chime in here... he has the Helix O2, Helix DP, I forget which test pipe, and the RMR catback. I drove the car a few days ago and it sounds really nice. Throaty without drone, almost quite (but not) at cruize, I really liked it... loud at WOT yet you could easily talk over it.

An old man's perspective...

Okay i put on my UR testpipe on now. completing my turboback exhaust system. Its much louder than with the stock cat. top end sounds sweet! i prefer this over the quietness of the catback and downpipe

Im looking to quite mine down..... I have an HKS dp,,,,,,UR high flow cat,,,,,, and a works exhale.

Im thinking of going with a cheap catback,,,,, or just going with a magna flow muffler.

Which of these will I see any gains with, or any slight lose with?

And where can you buy the Magnaflow from,,,,,,I have 2.5" exhaust..

Thanks.............

Thermal R&D

Does anyone have the part number for the thermal R&D muffler? It looks like they have their own mufflers on their site (not magnaflow) as I've seen posted elsewhere. I'm thinking it's the 81630s?

Has anyone installed a resonator into a Buschur turboback? Is there enough clearance from the driveshaft for a 4" diameter muffler/resonator?

A quieter exhaust makes the whole powerband more usable in the real world.

I know this is an old thread but just to give you guys an idea, I have a galant vr4 with custom exhaust system. It's 3inch turbo back but i finished it with a 2.5inch remus muffler. The purist may argue it will cause power loss but I don't think it's noticeable at WOT. I always get compliments on the sound of the car. It's sounds deep and quality. My wife drives the car alot and take my 1yr old son around in it. I'll post some pics here maybe some of you might want to fit mix n match systems.
