I am sorry but the only way is go back to stock or rallyart exhaust and you will loose power with both.

theoretically i totally agree with what you are saying. And i have preached the same...so don't think i'm trashing your post in any way...just sharing a story.

before i had my turbo upgrade, my car was still loud. At one point I had the buschur turbo-back (with the regular muffler) and a cat...it was not that loud at all...not queit, but not terrible like it was without the cat...

i was at turbotrix one day and there was a kid there getting his car dyno'd there and i noticed it was remarkabily quiet...i asked him what kind of exaust he had and he had the TurboXS turbo back with no cat...

his car was significantly quieter than mine without a cat whereas i had a cat on my car...so based on the muffler...i guess there can be a pretty big difference.

i am just trying to find something that can help quiet my car down (even if it is just enough not to get me pulled over) because before i had my upgrade...the buschur turboback with the magnaflow was perfect...it was aggressive but definately not too loud...but now with the new turbo...it is louder then my ever has been even with the buschur turboback, no cat, and original muffler.

i honestly like the way it sounds...i just do not want to get pulled over on a constant basis

i remember Al saying something about the perrin exaust being quiet...anyone have this one?

I have a b&b exhaust and even with cat delete in it is still only a little bit louder then stock. Its got to be quiet because were im from in pa ,they are very strict on noise level. You do suffer power wise do to the muffler being baffled.Oh and it is true 3inch turboback.

honestly, i have not yet (had the pleasure) of hearing an Evo with an upgraded turbo yet (except videos) and am looking forward to it. i have a full 3" RnR custom exhaust (02 housing eliminator) with an HKS Carbon/Ti muffler and its not loud at all under granny driving control (shifting under 3k) but getting on it brings out just enough thunder to put a weird grin on my face...

throw a high flow cat in there, too....

Why not look at the Apexi' N1. It's not a true 3" but has a great sound and not loud at all. I just drove to NJ from VA to get tuned by Al and I had three people in my car. With the radio turned down we had a conversation at normal speaking levels the whole time.

BTW- Helix DP, Stock cat, Apexi N1 CB

You can check exhaust notes and sound levels here:

Not wanting a loud exhaust myself, I opted for the Vishnu. It isn't cheap, but it seems to be the least noisy and sounds great.

joel..

two resinators ..and a diff muffler. Dont waste your money on a new exhaust.. they all have 3" stainless. 3" stainless is 3" stainless.... change the muffler and add resinators.. Buschur's exhaust doesnt come with any, and the muffler is loud. There i just save your hundreds .. I'll take half ... for my advice

mark
turbotrix

p.s. get a ticket for speeding .. not loud exhaust.. c'mon guy
