help car won't start
i was driving about 30mph and my car just died. coasted over to a parking lot and checked my intercooler pipes and connections etc. it turns over just fine just won't start. it's like it's out of gas or something, but it's got a half a tank. any suggestions?

i just tried to start again and no go. if i turn the key should i be able to here the fuel pump prime or vibrate? i took the back seat out to see if i could here anything but nothing. just a thought. also is there a fuel cut switch for a safety percaution? i know there is on my old escort because i had to reset it. thanx jason
you should be able to hear it. If all coil wires are attached and fine, it could be the fuel pump. it may come down to something so small thought that a 5 second fix will work, funny how these cars work sometimes.

You won't necessarily hear it.. I did the same test (back seat out, listen for priming) with my stock pump and my Walbro, and with my father in the backseat neither of us could hear the pump. We did this test on two seperate evo's, as a result of all the posts about the Walbro being noisy, and both were the same. Zero sound, stock or not.
I'm not saying your pump is not failing, and it's a cheap and easy thing to test (new pump $95), but don't expect to hear it.
Good luck!
