3240, you are loosing nothing having to shift to fifth. Do the math. You probably loose a quarter car length during a shift. Thats like 5 feet. Do you know how long it takes to go 5 ft when you are traveling 120-125mph? At 120mph you are traveling 176ft per second. Or .028 seconds to go the extra 5 feet. You really worried about 3 hundreds of a second??

Toda is just being conservative on the rpm. So stop thinking about wanting to change your 100mm crank for another 100mm crank. You are making me want to throw up reading this stuff.

94AWDcoupe,

I've got a fix for your upset stomach. Quite reading this post and go away. No one asked you to respond. BTW a new crank is going in thanks to RNR, it can rev to 8500 rpm's easily. Now go throw up, I hope you choke on it.

Yah there is nothing wrong with wanting to raise your rev limiter. Its funny becouse i read all these posts with people saying "why the hell you want to do that?" Well why not? You gain more of a powerband and depending on how your car is setup you will gain a signicant power increase. Oh well i guess some people like to talk down on others that would like to benefit from it becouse they dont have the money to do it themselves. Its one of those well i cant do it so why should he. DAMN I HATE THAT!!!

Anyway what crank did you get from RNR? How much was it if you dont mind me asking? You can PM me the price if you feel more comfortable about that. Im just asking becouse maybe i will look into getting one myself. Hey maybe we can get a special for ordering 2??

People who don't understand the benefits of a higher redline/rev capability have their head up their hole. Hell why does my V8 race motor rev to 8500?

Okay let me explain it to you one more time. No matter who you buy a 100mm crank from you are getting the exact same crank. Toda gets there 100mm crank from mitsubishi, tomie gets there 100mm crank from mitsubishi, AMS gets there 100mm crank from mitsubishi, RNR gets there 100mm crank from mitsubishi. The only stroker kit that doesn't use the factory 100mm crank from mitsubishi is june. Their crank is a custom forging and that is why their kit is so expensive. A custom forged crank is 2000. The factory mistu crank is 650.

So if you want to be a complete idiot and rebuy the exact same crank you already have, Go right ahead. I am trying to help you not insult you.

And shame on RNR for taking your money. i will never do business with a company like that.

Stock crank isnt 100mm first of all. Also Boost Solutions uses a custom crank "not from the factory" So dont act like JUN is the only option.

Oh good i was hoping you would chime in. Hey can you PM me a price and some specs on your crank? Also your 2.4l kit? Even though i just did a full rebuild im getting another evo block and am going to make it a torque monster while the one in the car is my HP engine. HAHA. I LOVE THE EVO!!!

I will PM you some details. I just don't like to give away everything we do or build.

Oh by the way we just made 615ft lbs of torque yesterday on the dyno. This is with our 2.4 bottom end.

This was with a mild tune at 28-30psi.

Okay for anyone who doesn't like to waste money. The bone stock factory mitsubishi stroker crank has been tested in the dsm world at very high horspower levels long before the EVO 8 ever existed. Magnus motorsports made 690hp for an entire season on a bone stock mistubishi crank. That was about three years ago. burshur racing made 609hp and 640ft tq on a factory mitsubishi crank 6 or 7 years ago. Wrightouch automotive made over 750 whp on a bone stock mistu crank. You can buy them from mistubishi your self. I paid 485 shipped to my door for the last one I bought, and that was a retail sale. I am done here.

OMG that is just sweet!! Ya for this other engine i want to go 2.4L with a APS turbo setup since those Australias love there torque over HP i think they know what they are doing in that aspect. Anyway if you got a minute i would love to get those numbers from you throught the PM. ALso if you can maybe give me a phone number at your shop and contact i can call you up and we can get thing rolling.

I don't remember how much power we made with the factory 2.4 crank, I do remember having absolutely no luck running the stroked engines.

We just recently bought some stroker kits from Toda and while I wasn't overly impressed with the rods I think if the RPM stays down to their recommended 7500 rpm there won't be a problem with them.

I am going to start assembly of the engines this coming week and offer the stroker outright with no core required. The shortblocks without a core with the stroker kit installed will be around $3500.

Big interest in the strokers. With the dish that Toda runs in the piston I don't forsee any trouble with excessive detonation with them.

Be interesting to see how the assembly goes. The blocks just got back from the machine shop.
