We have no idea what you did but as I said above have a compression check.
Based on the info that we have, I disagree. In a lot of cases, it is the owners fault that the engine was damaged. For example, people altering their A/F ratios or boosting over the stock level. In this case, however, he was only boosting to 16 psi, so the damage probably would have occurred if the car were still stock. It seems to me that would be a warrantee issue, and it is Mitsu's responsibility. This is all based on the assumption that all the info we have is accurate. But based upon the first post, it is probably a warrantee issue. I can understand where you are coming from, and I am very strongly against people abusing their warrantee after making modifications to their car, but this does not appear to be a case in which the modifications caused the problem.

pull the pan and see for yourself. it can't be more difficult than a chevrolet, you have to pull the motor to remove the pan on those.

ok finally got to check the oil. There was absolutly none in the car, I mean the dipstick was bone dry. but there was also none under the car so I'm guessing that means that the block is still ok and don't have a hole in it. I put about 3 quarts more oil in it just to see what would happen.....the noise went down but is still there and the idle is very rough...it is also idleing higher than usual...almost 1200-1300 rpm. I also noticed after giving it a little gas and shutting it off there was a little somke coming from the exhuast....is this oil burning? and if so does this mean I may possibly have blowpast? if I can find the cylinder that is causeing the problem could I disconnect just that one and drive it home on 3 or what?

Wow, no oil? How many miles on your car? Have you changed the oil, if so when? It's easy so see the areas of the block, look around and see if you have an oil leak.

I wouldn't have put any oil in and drove it straight to the dealer.

Do your best to go back to stock and take it to the dealer.

Throw yourself at the feet of the service manager, maybe give him some money, and hope he pity's you.

Remember, it's their fault until they can prove you broke it. And even then, they have to prove your parts are responsible for the failure.

Keep us posted!

Oh man what a bummer. I did notice I was losing oil a little on break-in, but I was used to checking from my old beater civic. You should definitely take off the mods, take it back to the dealer and explain what happened. No excuse for your new car running out of oil at 2500 mi. maybe you were a little underfilled.

This is a lesson for all of us, always check fluid levels before you drive off the lot or shortly thereafter. The acura dealer left the radiator cap off my friend's RSX and he never knew it until he overheated. Now he's got a brand new RSX with possibly a slightly warped head, but they wouldn't give him a new car no matter how hard he tried.

Good luck bro, let us know how things turn out.
