how do you know when your T-case is broken??

how do you know when your T-case is broken??

i need to know because ever since i installed a new clutch, ive been starting to hear some wierd noises. such as whining during accelerating upto 3k rpm, and a faint whining noise decelerating..but everything works fine..

I also hear a lot of gear whine. What appears to be more than normal. I have had a transfer case replaced once already. I will most likely take my car back to the dealership tomorrow...again...

you're car will sound like a jet plane on crack if your t-case is going. it is something that you definatley will not have to question...at all....

you'll know.

when my t-case went...i coudln't hear the radio even when it was turned all the way up at 40 mph...it was that loud

Oh I know what a blown transfer case sounds like. I have been through one before. Like I said above, it sounds like some abnormally loud gear whine all through the power band.

Its a whining sound that is speed dependant. Its really annoying and I mean REALLY!!

holy **** thats bad..well as if for now, my car is running the same, i just hear lilttle faint noises..should i be aware of these noises??

That is the reason why mitsu should issue a recall. If that happened on the highway.... that could really F someone up.

They issued a t-case recall for the E/T/L because of a bad t- case gasket that would cause the fluid to leak out and the t- case lock up.

One sign is the CV boot or boots pop off , and its hard to trun the stering wheel then it pops and truns . This it what happined to me when I broke my front diff witch is in the T-case .
BTW Make 100% sure that the dumb a*s dealer/repare shop puts the corect fluid and fills it up to ! ! !

clutch and transfer case going out..
