Replacing IC hoses with hard pipes

A few months ago I had to tighten the clamps on my intercooler hoses since they were frighteningly loose. Last night I had the return hose clamp on the intake manifold blow off while driving back to work and I've decided it's time for hard pipes. I was hoping I could get some opinions from various people on the quality and or reliability of the more popular replacements available. Any opinions worth noting?

Since I'm alittle broke right now, I went with Injen intake and upper intercooler piping kit. For what it's worth, it's been awesome and looks great. Oh, and the price is awesome compared to everyone elses intercooler pipes. Injen kit only cost $365.

If you weren't on a budget, I would recommend the BR upper intercooler pipings. There piping has the straightest pipes and shortest routing. Down fall is it cost about $750 dollars. If I had all the money, it would definitely be BR.

Injen upper and Greddy lower. Everything's great except the injen intake is too loud for me! The constant WHOOOSH, PSSSHHHT everytime I accelerate got old after about 10 minutes!

BTW, fitment was great on both items

Do the hardpipes give any noticeable power gains?

Are there any kits that retain the stock airbox, or do you have to go to some aftermarket intake too?

Thanks,
Jason

I've been wondering about this for a while how is the injen setup compared to say the Buschur intercooler pipe or HKS or any other manufacturer? Such as power gains sound blah blah etc etc.

You wont find any big power gains from the piping alone the injen comes w/ the intake HKS, RMR, Ralliart don't

I am also about to get the hard pipes, I found a kit from XS (XS Max Pipes) from Evo8.com...They are only charging 382.00! For that price I'm going to try them. I really don't see to much of a difference between them and the RMR or the UR Racing pipes. My bet is the Bushur Racing I/C pipes are the best but I really am not interested in relocating my battery, blah blah..does ne1 know anything about theM?

Not everyone cares for the sound. I personally don't care for it either.

i am using the rvm piping, fits around the stock battery and spoolup was noticibly quicker. not a bad idea for $300 for upper and lower piping

I have heard from some that replacing the lower ic pipes will drop your boost a bit. Can anyone verify if this is true or not?
