Question Exactly how much boost should I have?

After having some fuel cut problems after installing a k&n typhoon intake and having my tech 'turn down' my boost by making an adjustment to my waistgate I've solved the problems by replacing my original intake.

Trouble is that I read at http://www.machevo.com/gofaenup.html that the evo runs 19 psi of boost right from the get-go. I was trying to adjust the waistgate back to original and remember the tech saying that he turned it down 3 times. The problem is when I turned it back 3 times my gauge (not boost gauge by mechanic's gauge) reads 12.5. I tested the car and I dont have any fuel cuts again and its running ok. I dont know if it's in my head but I feel like its not as fast as before the mess of intake installation.

Can anyone tell me with certainty how much boost I should set this thing to? I really dont wanna mely anything so the advice you give should be from knowledge and experience and not hearsay.

Also, I have a blitz power meter sj to install but the dang thing is in Japanese. anyone with directions that can be scanned and emailed?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

btw, I've an evo 7 right out of Japan.

If the wastegate has been adjusted to release at 12.5 PSI then your car will feel a lot slower...It sounds like the tech went too far with the adjustment..
Do not use a fuel cut defender as a solution to this problem

Thanks Dyno4mance,

I've put back my original intake and everything's fine with the car. It's just that the technicial thought he was helping me out (when the fuel cut was a problem) by reducing the boost at the waistgate. I just want to go back to where it's supposed to be untill my excede arrives. I dont want to over boost just yet.

I dont intent to use any fuel cut. I have no need to. all I want to do is reset my boost. Should I just go ahead to readjust the waistgate till my boost gauge reads 19?
