i run a greddy type s VTA and have never had a problem. Idle is always good, no stalling or bucking. The car runs the same as it did with the stock bov. The only thing that ever happens is when i down shift hard i shoot 2-5 foot flames from the extra fuel. But in my opinion that not a problem

HKS SSQV is great, sounds great although i do like the greddy also, you can definitely tell the difference at the track... both are great... i just have the stalling issues...

another fix supposedly is the HKS EIDS does anyone know if that fixes it

Are you running MAP or MAF? If MAF do you have a super afc or some type of flash?

I'm happy running AEM EMS Speed Density with the Tial. Its a little "look at me" loud though. I did have to put a lighter spring in to keep down light throttle compressor surge. That thing just wanted to stay tight like a vault. It still holds boost fine up top with the new spring. I haven't pushed it past 23 psi but I'm positive it would hold well beyond that.

I got to play with a gfb today and the unit is pretty nice. I just set the spring tightened half way, around 10% vta, and still can hear the whoosh everyone wants to hear. I tried it around 50/50, initially the car would run fine, but after a couple of hours, at every stoplight my idle just drops to 0 and I would have to restart. A quick tune, 3-4 times out of my car, I finally got it to a decent setting where it wont drop to 0 rpm.

At first it scared the crappers out of me when the car died on me the first time and I was on the middle of the road and nothing worked(steering and gas)

As far as running high boost, Im not really sure if this bov can handle it.

Never did get my gfb bov to work correctly. Stalling issues, shudder etc. Tried different settings for about 6 months?? Finally took it off last night and went back to stock. The GFB is a gorgeous, well built unit, just didn't work very well with my particular evo...

I too am running this bov, However I am running how they suggest, with the least amount of spring tension possible that will still allow the port to close fully before idle. This was harder to do on the injen since it vents right by the headlight so i took the horn off too see the valve. I am about 1 turn from full soft. It will studder a little bit full atmosphere, but 50/50 it dosent stutter any more than the stocker did (yes it does studder even bone stock) I love the way it sounds. If i had a full open setup only I would prolly go with tial, sound, looks, quality, and Garrett bought them, they must be good n e way I am pleased with the GFB setup and wont be changing to anything else.
