another fix supposedly is the HKS EIDS does anyone know if that fixes it
I use the EIDS and it works great with my Greddy Type S VTA. Before I had the EIDS if I was revved up more than 1.5k and popped the clutch my car would stall or try to. Now it is gone. If anyone is considering it go for it. If I had to do it over the only thing I would do different is get the wire harness extender for the ecu has you do have to clip into the wires on the ecu. However, I have no problems from my wiring job.

If you are truly going to VTA, then the SSQV is your only option to prevent stalling. Like it or not, it is the ONLY BOV that doesn't leak under vacuum (at idle). I learned this the hard way. I tried a Turbosmart (not the new evo-specific one), GFB, and Greddy before I kept the SSQV. My SSQV is crazy loud, sometimes even when I shift softly at 4000 rpm, and I'd rather it was quiet whn I wanted it to be.

Dual port is kind of a fake VTA, but great if you only want to hear it on hard shifts. The dual ports hit the recirc port a split second beofre the VTA port so that when they leak at idle, you don't stall. When you look closely, you'll see the VTA port is offset about 1/4" higher than the recirc port.

If you convert from MAF to MAP via an engine management system, it won't stall from VTA, even with leaking, but on the stock ecu, I promise it will with everything but an SSQV, I've been there.

Forge Motorsports VTA is the only way to go. It is what EvoM put in their project evo. Here is the write up they did. https://www.evolutionm.net/features/.../projectevo/22
I have one too, and it is awesome.

So you can VTA the SSQV without any stalling, or idle issues. Is there anything negative about it? I had it on my sr20det and liked it, just want to make sure it will work with the evo. thanks

I didn't have any issues, just buy the evo-specific kit and install is easy, just make sure you have a really good pair of snap-ring pliers with 90-degree tips for that funky adapter gimmick.

The only other thing I recommend is going 2-3 turns stiffer than the unit comes out of the box so it's not so loose when it does blow off. Aside from that, the idle does dip down pretty low once in a while, but only for a split second. I think I have stalled maybe once in the past 4 months but to be honest, that may have been before the SSQV, I don't remember. Hope that helps.

The Tial blow off valve is a great unit for those looking to vent to air. I have it on my car welded to the upper intake pipe.

where's tial?

It's Tial or Forge. They're built to last and performance without too many peoplems.

Forge is plug in design, which i like for evo models. Welding mounts are pain in the a.
