Manual or electronic Boost controller???

which is better value for money. the Manual or electronic? I may in the future upgrade to EMS that has boost control, So I am thinking that the Manual may be the way to go. But even if I didnt upgrade to EMS later is the Manual BC still gonna cut it in the long run???

I would say manual because you would only need to set it when you first install it then probably never again. Electronic if you plan to change it a lot in the convience in your car but like you said EMS is the way to go and I highly discourage the use of a greddy b spec...

it all depends on what you want, if you want to save money go with a manual. if you don't mind spending money go with an EBC (HKS is a good and easy one to use). some like one over the other. I like ebc cause i don't like to open my hood to change my boost every time.

go wit the manual. I had a GReddy EBC and could never get it to tune just the way I wanted, switched to a hallman MBC and am holding 20psi all the way to redline.
GReddy Profec B Spec II for sale asking 300

Manual, if the EBC malfunctions, and they DO as the are electrical Vs. Mechanical, you get open boost ,meaning no boosyt control. MBC by Hallman, used on 9 second DSM's. Bushur uses one on his race car, its king

I agree with choosing a manual, and agree that they are less likely to fail than an electronic control; but, if the hose to the MBC comes off, you also have no boost control.

So put clamps on those hoses!

Side note: I had thought of disconnecting the boost control and just having the wastegate open at its normal pressure (14 psi or so) when my kids reached driving age. I tried my car without the boost control and saw a peak of 14 and 13 to redline. '

It was STILL too fast for a novice driver.

yeah, but do you have to put the heavier spring in it? i mean, the stock boost on the wastegate of that turbo is like 14psi, RIGHT? so, if you wanna run 20-21psi all day....you have to use the heavier spring?

i'm looking to get a MBC and i was going to get the greddy b spec but you guys don't seam to like it. could someone tell me why? or is there a better Ebc? i don't want to go over board with it i just want to hold 19psi to red line and maybe have a lower setting for winter and normal driving. Also i want to get the buschur raceing 3" turbo back but i don't have the money right now. could i start with the MBC with out herting anything? or should i wait and get the turbo back first
