Guys,
I was wondering if anyone has used 100octane low lead gas in our cars. It is Avfuel, has a bit of lead in it.
Anyone have any advice on whether it is a good idea to use or not?

 

Why not just use 100 unleaded?

 

Only use AVgas if you have removed your catalytic converter. It is a lot cheaper than race gas, and higher octane as well. A friend of mine gets his from Corona Airport at just over $2 a gallon for 130 octane (at sea level). I just paid $5.50 a gallon for 110 octane leaded race gas the other day. It works great, no CELs, but damn, $5.50 a gallon...

Edit: I forgot to add that AVgas is leaded.

 

I use 100 octane Union 76 unleaded it runs me 3.25 plus sales tax. Knowing KY I would assume you can get it cheaper. Call your local wholesale outlet. Leaded fuel will cause your cat to fail.

 

lead is bad for cats and o2 sensors. But otherwise it's ok.
