I'm not one to pay for names, "hand built," or anything else that markets added value but does not add value. I would rather have something put together by a computer and robot than a human hand. Then it won't be nearly as flawed.

I don't buy a car to impress other people (ie. Lambo), I only buy to impress myself.

I'd rather have a nice house, big garage, and 50 autos, motos, and watercraft that serve many purposes than 8 Ferraris and 2 Lambos. Just my 2.
precisely, to impress oneself. so when you fly by me in your decked out skyline while i'm cruisin' my Murcielago, i will pay no attention for not only will i be preoccupied with something else, but i will also know i have one of them bad boys sitting in my garage.

Sorry Joe, but I wasn't trying to be condescending. I WAS trying to say that many people see an 8 lb. lighter roof and discount it as nothing.

My humble apologies if I offended you. Neil

I feel the same way. My first batch of cars in my dream garage would be mostly Japanese tuners. But there's something to be said for the "art", beauty and style that you pay extra for in a Ferrari or Lamborghini. I'll take my R-GT in black.

If it gets down to where you have to quantify the MR's added cost and you conclude that it doesn't "make sense" then the car is just simply not for you. That's why there is a GSR and RS. I don't think there's that much difference in a King Ranch F-250 then a regular Lariat, but people go nuts over the exclusivity, unique colors, interior appointments - and pay big dollars just to have them (its a $3000 add on the sticker with no mechnical differences). People are serious about pickups down here. Mitsu has had special models before. They just want to cash in on that phenomenoa again.

Must you assume that I would fly by? Couldn't just look and smile, give thumbs up and appreciate each other's cars? You'd be one of those snotty bastards who only look straight ahead, absorbed in it all, wouldn't you?

If I could have any car, It probably would be a ford escort cosworth from england. the reason I like evo's is cause it's rare. Anyone with cash can go fast but try getting a skyline or cosworth in the u.s. and it's nice to be able to have that no one else has. The main reason i want an evo over a g35 coupe, tl, 3 series, wrx, or is300 is cause I know for sure iwont see any grandmas driving it! The first is300 i ever saw was driven by an old lady. Same for the g35 coupe!

well, it all depends on the situation. usually i find myself keeping busy in order to avoid stagnance. lookin' around with curiousity has never been a benefit to me. maybe later down the line when i do come to that point in my life, i will be a lot more relaxed knowing i have accomplished much. so yes, i guess at that time i'll give you the big thumbs up then punch it.

oh, and yes.. i would immediately right off the bat think you would fly by. after reading some of your previous posts, attacks on our female moderator after a simple statement, along with many other "hater" statements and dissing people, i would definitely think so.

Neil, I've read you wrong. My apologies. Excuse me while I remove this chip from my shoulder. I thought you were some multi-time ProSolo winner or something. It has been embarrasing enough having my co-driver beat me in my own car all damn season!

I'm going to chill out at this point. I think I've made my point. And thank you again for your comments on the Bilsteins. GPTourer was right - I was looking for firsthand experience and you provided it. I hope to drive an MR and see for myself the difference.

Hehe. The dead whale pics. Yeah, that was a pretty interesting day. Sure beat sitting around the house watching TV. http://www.joe250.com/misc/whale.htm

Later,
Joe
