Yep, true. I prefer to mod my Evo and have a different look than spending more money for the "MR", the only thing I want from the MR is the 6 Speed.

i want to get the 04 cuz i dont feel like waiting anymore unless the price goes down when 05 comes out? But then i hav a feeling that once i get it i mite regret not waiting for the MR... or 05....

im not tryin to get the best trim otherwise itd be MR for sure. im tryin to get the best DEAL and tryin to get the car before summer is over but if the wait is justified then i guess ill wait... ya, im indecisive as ****

wut do u guys think?

ummm...wait for the 05....Unless your gonna race on a track for times or mod your engine for ungodly speeds...you may as well just get the standard 05.

The EVO 8 is the latest improvement to the long line in the EVO's history. All of the previous s kicked azz and still do. Soon there will be more improvements and eventually, there will be another even more advanced then the upcoming MR. I would keep the current EVO. I'd eventually swap for a six speed tranny in a couple of years. That makes more sense money-wise. Six gears would be nice. But remember, no matter what verson EVO you drive... may it be verson 1, 2... 5, 6... 8, or an MR, you have what very few people have, an incredible automobile. All EVO's Rock!

get an '04 after the '05s come out. that way the price will be nice. unless of course, you desire the new additions. but either way, the '04 will have a more attractive price than the 05's.

heck i'm trying to decide if i should keep modding my sti or cease my efforts and get ready to sell her for an mr!
if the mr had been out when i was shopping i would have bought it over sti.
6spd- better or not, i have to have it. 6 is higher than 5 that's my flawed logic.
hp bump- plus now i know about the tunability of the 4g63
handling- what was already best in class, gets better? you've got to be kidding!

on a similair note, is there any where i can get more info on the 6spd mitsu will be using in the mr?
is it all new, or has it been available in other markets before? my only reservation here is durability.

The 6 speed was first used in the Evo8 nearly everywhere else in the world except here. I think it had one recall - for what reason, I don't know. But otherwise, I haven't heard any problems about.

It was something regarding the shifter being too short and in some cases you will not be able to get into any gears. I printed out the recall in japanese and let someone who knows the language read it to me.
