What Happened ?

Has Anyone Seen The Mr On Mitsubishis Web Site ?

What Happened ? No Blacked Out Headlights_ No White Face Gauge Cluster No Red Mr Tail Lights Front Does Not Have Mr Chin Spoiler No All Black Recaro Seats Ac Temperature Control Is Standard Like Our Reg Evos Not Auto Like Euro Mr What Has Mitsubishi Done With All Of Their Time And All Of Our Requests ?

Ps I Am Disapointed If It Comes Here That Way I Know There Little Things But I Wanted The Car To Be More Distinguished From The Regular Evos And Just Think I Have A Wicked White One Comming Sometime This Month Or Next

^ This has been discussed in great detail: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=93857

Nothing's preventing you from changing things over yourself, either. I'll probably be swapping out the headlamps and taillamps down the road (the Graphite Gray seems incomplete without it), and I'm waiting for the paint codes for the rear-spoiler from someone across the pond.

Day Late Dollar Short

Thankyou Mister spoot for posting that thread. I have been busy lately and have not been able to keep up with the new info.

I have read all of the posts and i am thankful that the Mr is comming with all of the mechanical stuff ..... but just wanted it to be a little more like the JDM market MR.

This finding just makes it a little harder to give up my Weightless Weight Evolution for the MR.
Still gonna Trade but not quite as excited as I could have been. please don't take this as b!tching, because I'm just glad its here.

Thankyou for the INFO but also

Derek

only thing on the MR that I really wish I had was the 6 speed... everthing else on it I wouldn't notice that much the 13lb of torque and 5 hp can be gained very easily with very simple mods wheels and tires you have to buy periodically anyway if you want lighter weight there are lots of ways of doing that RS bar I already have but the 6 speed is not an easy thing to upgrade to... and I really do wish I had that higher gear on the freeways even though its not much higher than 5th gear on my evo it would be nice but certainly not worth taking a 6-8k loss on a car.... even if the Evo 9 takes another 3 years to get here I'm betting it will be worth the wait.

KEEP IT! you could install performance parts for more powers anyway. YEs I know 6-Speed manual is nice but just wait for next few years later.

For those already with an Evo, just wait for the Evo9 which would contain all the MR has and more.
The current Evo MR isnt that big enough of a deal to warrant the at least $10k difference.
Unless you race the cars hard, you wouldnt notice any difference.

i bet they will release one in US with AYC later, like they did on the 6-sp and ACD, or even like in Euro market, from regular->FQ300->FQ320->FQ400, their marketing strategy is to keep new ppl to buy their new evos.

The other part of me is saying stick to what i have and build on it. It's virtually the same engine right?! The MR is so tempting AYC/6speed/improved turbo/ rims etc. I'm curious on what you guys are planning to do when the arrival of the "Evo MR" hits our shores... trade for MR or keeping your Evo
I know this is little off topic but it is related as potential future choice ....

A third option might be to wait another year for EVO IX in fall next year, you should get a sneak peek in March/April 05 when it gets released to JDM. If we're lucky this time around we may get pretty much the same spec. car, I've even heard they may bump up the BHP into 300-340 region. Anyone have any better information on IX?

all the jdm tuners get evo's w/out ayc as it limits their diff tuning. HKS makes an ECU for evo's with ACD but WITHOUT AYC so that is an indication to me that it's not needed. besides if you pack too much electronic gadgets in, it will be come an electrical nightmare like a mercedes. mr's nice but evo not only weighs less (43 lbs) but if driven correctly you can keep it in the powerband despite what the mags say. haven't dynoed my car yet but i'm sure with the mods i have i'm over "280" crank hp. by stiffening up the rear my car handles totally different from stock.

i say keep that evo. i'm keeping mine. i might look at an mr but as a 2nd car

The MR is SWEEET!! Anyone else thinking about trading in?
Think of it this way... all the ACD is is an open diff with a hydraulic clutch pack on it that allows you to control the locking effect. In tarmac mode, it should behave much like the stock viscous unit on our car, it's only with the handbrake turns and snow/gravel that you'll see much of a difference. The big handling differences on the MR are due to the lighter wheels, front LSD, and bilstein shocks, all of which you can do to your car for less than the 10K that it will cost you to trade up (assuming you can trade in the car for 25K and buy the MR for 35K, and let's not forget the 5K you have in the car already).

Actually, that's what I'm dying to know. Does ACD in tarmac mode handle at ALL like our viscous diff? If so, then I can live with it, because I know I won't be playing in the rain or snow all that often...
