If I wanted a magazine about trucks I would have bought Truck&Gunrack.
Point is, you have to get at least one magazine that keeps you up-to-date with all cars in general and C&D is my preference for that.

(yeah yeah, i can hear the arguments now..."not thru the twisties it won't" blah blah
)
i agree...super street and 2NR are crappy mags...and SCC is following the trend with several magazines devoted to 240's and drifting which isnt really my interest at all...
Turbo Mag is a great magazine to have if you want to actually LEARN about turbo cars (which is us)...and DSport seems like an awesome mag, although i have only seen a couple issues...i will be getting a subscription to DSport now and Turbo when my EuroTuner subscription expires.

You all forgot DuPont Registry
I think Turbo's good and Road&Track is good for general car stuff and comparison tests... I like all of the British mags (EVO, CAR, etc.) and WRC Rally except they're like $8.99 at borders

Here's the ones I get and why I like and dislike them in no particular order:
1. Super Street - Pros: Easily the largest mag I get. Has the most JDM tuner house rides and seems to be the first to get the "hot" vehicles. Off color humor is funny - sometimes. Good photography.
Cons: Off color humor is distracting sometimes because of too many inside jokes. Plenty of features but little content about the actual car.
2. Import Tuner - Pros: Top notch production values. Excellent photgraphy of cars and beautiful models. Dyno pages are interesting, if dubious. Great range of feature cars. Gets it done with the amount of pages it has.
CONS- New style may be a little TOO artsy, not sure yet. a little too much bling from time to time.
3. Sport Compact Car - Pros: Excellent techincal info. Great reviews of new cars and great comparison tests.
CONS: Holier then thou attitude to "the rest of the import scene." Not enough features. In depth project reviews are good, but take a long time to get anywhere.
4. Modified - Pros - Great features, high quality print. Great photography.
Cons - a little behind the trends, some me too ness.
I use to love Turbo and it was the first import mag I read, but it suffers from the me-too syndrome quite a bit. I guess it is primarily because Primedia owns most of them, but I feel like I don't get enough original content with it to warrant a subscription. HCI, I didn't like at all and Import Racer was unsatisfying to me as well.
I gotta say that Import Tuner is my favorite. The picdtures are just beautiful to look at. SCC may give me a lot to think about, but there's something to be said for seeing a nicely kitted car with a shiny new set of Volks with a hottie leaning next to it at sundown. Scc thinks pretty is a bunch of bottles of flat black Krylon paint. But IT gives the best mix of tech, skin, bling, and variety to make it right.

Sport Compact Car is dope .... a perfect blend of Super Street meets Car and Driver.
I lik Dsport too but its small ... I think my 2nd pic would be modified mag as the quality of print and such is top notch

I think the Sports Compact car tries too hard to be like motortrend.
I use to like Super Street when it first came out, but now it's just Shlt. Too much advertising and their articles on cars are not taken seriously. Too many lame jokes to be taken seriously.
Import Tuner is Too fansy for me, but it's really artsy and it's good to see some creativity on an import mag.
Modified has too much letters and too little pictures. I like reading technical stuff, but I'm too visual of a person to just read. Good pictures tho.
