Has anyone else considered changing the color of the stock evo rims?
I'm still trying to figure out what the 'brute of summer' means....
400 for repainting your stock rims? oh....my....god.....hopeless....
spend 4 on a can of high qual. spraypaint and you're set.

Chroming will make the wheels brittle. The reason chrome rims are so heavy is that the metal they use has different characteristics that allow for higher temps and resistance to the chemicals used in the chroming process.

What kind of paint did you use and how did you do it?
Spraypainting your rims is silly. If you want to paint stuff on your car with spraypaint, sell your EVO and go buy a Civic.
If you spraypaint (or even proffessionally paint) your rims, everytime a small rock or anything hits them as you are speeding down the road, the paint will chip off and it will look like crap.
Powdercoating is the way to go.

I have powdercoated DOZENS of styles of rims, factory AND aftermarket never had 1 problem with that. Besides 400 degrees is not a high enough temp to change the characteristics of the metal.
