Question Has anyone else considered changing the color of the stock evo rims?

Has anyone else considered changing the color of their stock evo rims?? Or for that manner, has anyone done it??

I'm thinking either black or gunmetal.

I'm going to go with black powdercoating. I know of a local shop that will do it for 400.00

Yeah, I would like to do a nice gun metal or black for my Apex Silver, not sure how it will look yet so I am holding off until I can see what it will look like. I will just paint them myself after I smooth over the dings with a dremel.

Has anyone else heard about the problem with powdercoating? I read somewhere it has to be low temp powder coating or you wheels can become brittle.

Anyone know of any good pictures of a silver EVO with black or gunmetal stock rims?

Thanks!

it's just not worth it when you can buy a second set of rota rims in the color of your choice for 500-700

WRONG! I talked to Enkei today and they told me powder coating is perfectlly fine as long as it's low temp cure powder. Normal PC is heated at 400 degrees where as low temp is 250-275.

I am dropping mine off tommorow specificly for that tommorow. I post pics as soon as they are done.

Just don't clean your wheels for two weeks and let the brake dust do the work instead of paying somebody to get the gunmetal look.

Badevo,
You using the place in sumerville?

I was thinking of painting my stockers as well, prob get a body shop to do it. Dont want the down time of getting the PC since I only have one set.
