1000 horsepower evo!!!
I was having my OZ worked one at my local mitsubishi dealership. San Rafael Mitsubishi (northern California) any way, there is always a black evo w/ cf trunk/ hood always on the lift. i asked the mechanic about it and he said some guy w/ hella money is putting in a completely massaged evo motor in his car. I saw the engine sitting there. he has a custom intake manifold, hks cam, tubular exhaust manifold w/ upgraded turbo and more but thats all that was visible to me. they say it will be the fastest in the world. also it drops 46 lbs of boost. WOW!!!!!
they tested the engine and at 1020 horses it crippled the 3rd connecting rod, so i quess they are going to settle w/ 1000 horses. i will try to post pics. if this is any ones car here, all i have to say is congratulations!!
P.S. Also i have a stock oz spoiler. wondering if any silver evo owners w/ the evo 8 wing wants to trade. I'm willing to give you the wing plus money!! PM me if interested

yeh, you could have 1000hp, but how fast will it go without breaking something or other?
It's really not about the hp, balance is the key.
Anyway, I would love to see that. 1000 hp is still very very very rare.

500 hp already spools waaaay to slowly. Unless hes stroked that motor waay beyond 2.3-2.4 liters, the lag is gonna be horrendous. Youll have like less than 2000 rpm's-worth of usable power.

Shep's 1g has around 1000hp and is laying it down through a worked DSM drivetrain. The EVO drivetrain is much improved over the DSM drivetrain, so it should be able to handle the power. Of course, it'll probably require frequent rebuilds, but that's part of racing anyway.
Well TTs race car is in that area of power. I have seen it dyno to the wheels with the small turbo but I can't say how much power it put down because I would get in trouble. But put it this way it put down alot more then any other dyno sheet I have every seen on EVO M.
