Question Evo floorpans bulging --- NE1 else???

Being one of the only evo's in the NW Arkansas area, I haven't gotten a chance to look at any other evo's other than my own, and I'm thinking that a bulge has developed in the floorboard of my evo! I've got ~25k miles on it with a Buschur stage 2 and a few other goodies, and I know there's a slight variation in the design of the floorpans, but this is getting out of hand!

It's to the point now, where the little plastic floormat hook is rendered ineffective because of the arch in the material, and the floormat will slide up despite the velcro type spots underneath. I even looked at in on the lift, and the floorpan almost looks normal, but not quite.

Is this something I overlooked when I bought the evo? If this isn't normal, how the hell did this happen?

Does anyone else have this?

Man I have never heard of that before. I have an 04 and live in Conway, work in L.R. Don't guess I have seen you on any of the other boards unless you use a different name. Arimport.com littlerockracingscene.com

Where do you stay at in the NW...Fayetteville, Fort Smith,....?

Its defenitley our driving technique. Our heels are pushing the mats forward when we shift.

Do you jack the car up on the rails, or have you accidentally ever lifted it up from under the pan?

Fayetteville, and I commute to Bentonville all the time. There are only a handfull of evos up here, all 03s except for a white 04, and I looked at that one in the showroom to see what the floormats looked like, and it was fine.

I'm thinking that my evo is responding to my 245 lb frame, and deforming under the weight! But who knows. I was just wondering if anyone had addressed any issues like this.

Good to know there are other Arkansans tearing up the backroads!

As far as I've observed, the car hasn't been lifted improperly at any time --- since I'm so **** about how it's treated (and I always watch)!

Tampa, you're right about the driving style, though. It's easy to see why the floormat would slide, but the whole bulging floorpan is prompting my to buy a 16lb sledge --- and take care of it!

Thanks for the input guys!

I about **** myself when I noticed my floorpan bulging also. But, upon careful inspection - requiring tearing the carpet up - there is thick insulation that gets bent however you step on it.
