i dont know why SOME domestic owners continuosly try and make fun of import cars . . . in my point of view, i think respect should be given where respect is due . . . the US EVO is gonna be a fast car, and will handle ALOT better than a camaro or a mustang . . . why cant they leave it at that . . . i personally think that camaro's are ugly, but i know its a fast car and i can respect that . . . people need to grow up . . .
Haha, I get a kick out of them comparing Japanese sports cars to their domestic sports cars. Especially the punk asses thinking that their Cobra is all that. I don't think he realizes that the base 350Z costs around 27k with 287HP.
Also, did you read the post about the dumb *** calling the Evo a ricer? What the hell is that fool smoking?
"Performance wise, until Japan crams turbos on another V6 (350ZX, maybe?), I don't think they will produce anything with decent HP."
Oh man, this cracks me up. I think 280HP on a 2.0L 4banger is pretty decent. Especially when compared to the Domestic pride and glory... the dodge Viper... a V10 with 8.0L only pushing out a small 450HP. And check this out, the Z28 Camaro, with a V8 packing 5.7 liters, only has 320HP.
Evo = 140HP/Liter
Viper = 56.25HP/Liter
Z28 Camaro = 56.14HP/Liter

Ah yes, but it's not about HP per liter with these people, or even power to weight ratios, it's about the ALL IMPORTANT HP NUMBER!!!! They'd own a car that weighs 4 tons and has Power Wheels suspension if it were putting out 500 hp!!!
....then they'd promptly mount a gun rack in the back!

I was amazed that some of them actually knew about the Evo and even more amazed that SOME of them actually praised it!
As for HP / L lets not forget the S2000 = 120HP / L ---- Normally aspirated!
It's not an Evo (meaning I don't drive it in the snow - but the S2k does kick some butt!)

No one disputes the quality of the S2K... if I had the cash to get a truely good two seater, the 350Z and the S2K would be my top contenders, and maybe if the Z4 gets the M treatment....
The S2000 is a marvel. I'm anti Honda, and that thing gets major props from me, in my mind, it's right alongside the Integra Type R as far as desirability goes.
I know that I went off on them, but, at the same time, I respect domestics for their simplicity, and brute force. It's hard not to admire a car that is 100% purpose built. What cheeses me off is the fact that they fail to see the same thing in imports, due to the fact that most imports, and sport-compacts are actually multitasking, by making affordable, high-tech performance, and the ability to carry more than youself and a spare tire.
