I've been there!! I was drag racing on the street around sea-tac, wa. Street racing was really popular at that time in WA hehe.. I got pulled over out of like 80 racers... dang!!
I went to jail and bailed out nextday.... i believe my bail was like $500
Get a good lawyer, depends on your records, you may get out with just fine...

oh! and the worst case you can go to jail, I mean the REAL jail, not the one you were in when you get arrested. but I doubt it since you are still young and have clean record... just get a good lawyer!!

A warning? HAHAHA. Man I got pull over for going 38 on a 25mph zone and that was my first tiket. Crap I was expecting a warning too. But that dick head gave me a ticket instead. I started off from a 40mph zone and then I didn't see the change in speed limit on the side of the road. The cop caught me right after I passed the 25mph speed limit zone. Now that's BS.

un well i know that in Illinois if you are going over double the speed limit it's considered reckless endangerment and if you have a pssenger in the car it can be considered i think it's called reckless homicide, the worst that can happend is jail and the least would be avery hefty fine 200 plus + get a laywer asap though hope this helps

then whip out your race license and show him.

You probably could try to see and use his statement against him in court. Try to suponea for his video tape (hopefully he has one.) AND if he didn't have you on 'radar' you've got a good chance of saying, "I wasn't going that fast."

Good Luck,

jcnel.

first of all...stop talking about the offense on this forum (not like anyone is reading, but just in case). It is a misdermeaner...technically the officer has the ability to sight and release you. However, the law specifically gives the officer the right to tow your vehicle (read: impound for 30 days ouch $$) and arrest the driver. Second offense is a felony and is mandatory arrest.

Next go to court and be humble. Some idiots are dicks in court because they are in for simple crimes like yours and don't feel as if they need to behave because they are not looking at much jail time if any at all. You will **** off the judge...careful. Dress in a suit if you have one...if not then as nice as possibe. While in court the judge may give you an offer if you plead guilty to the offense. Listen to it. If it sounds good take it. If not then plead not guilty and request a public defender. They will put your case out to another day and you will have a chance to talk to a public defender. That does not mean you have to fight it. Simply put, they can bargain better than you can. Hopefully some fines (expect them to be high) and comunity service along with maybe a suspended license. Expect the worse and hope for the best.

Good luck and remember "it is only illegal if you get caught" just kidding.

I got a ticket for supposedly going 114 mph on Interstate 5 near Buttonwillow raceway about 6 weeks ago in my Audi S4. CHP officer was a putz. Claimed to get me on radar while driving the other way on a divided Interstate. If he is going the speed limit of 70 mph and I am going what he alleges was 114 mph (I deny it, of course), that's a combined opposing speed of 184 mph. He claims he visually estimated my speed too. What BS. I'm going to court for my arraignment next Monday. I don't need a lawyer, I am one. And they don't arrest middle-aged guys in $50,000 cars. Stay tuned.

A pair of OPEN eyes and a Passport radar detector, good protection for speed junkies.
