lol, yeh... I like to muse myself with these day dreams of underachievers finally overcoming with some sort of miracle.

yeh, they're 15 second cars, but some of them are tuned fairely well with Hondata i/e/h with small turbo boosting 8 psi. Could be interesting.

You won by that much because you did a roll. RSX-S could beat a stock EVo with some tuning on a roll.

AWD must be raced from stop. period.
i had trouble with a RSX-S. they are fast on top end faster then mine stock highway speed!

i've been suprised by RSX-s in other cars before, don't sleep on them. Haven't raced much in the EVO but stock for stock realistically the evo can only beat half those cars listed. C5 is kinda far fetched and really depends on the trim level and the car. Example is an automatic convertable c5 is going to run around a mid 13 @ 108+ but a manual hard top will run very low 13s or even 12s easy and trap over 110 which no stock evo can touch. Z06 or c6 forget about it. the lesser cars (R32, 350 Boxster) can honestly go either way and would really depend on the driver. My suggestion is to get to the race track, run your car and watch what other cars run, just cause something looks slower on paper doesn't mean it is.

that list covers a huge variety of cars and pricerange.
Comparing a 275 thousand dollar ferarri to a 30k Sti or Evo is hardly a comparison. thats like saying lets race my scooter against a Yamaha R1 Racebike. Compare apples to apples you will find you get much better results.

If you are willing to pay $275K for a 355 then I can sell you a couple. 355s are trading hands for low 80s these days.

Taken by me from a roll-
Corvette C5
M3 (2003 or 2004 series, cant tell)
STI (Exhaust, maybe something else??)
SRT-4 (definately modded)

I have Stage 1+ making about 350whp in dynojet land or 300whp on Shivs dyno.

Also interesting is I can hold my friends Yamaha R1 going uphill, probably because of the torque im making. However, on a straight line the R1 passes me like im standing still!!!!

I think with a lot of those cars, it's going to be a driver's race.. The EVO 8's strong point is NOT the straight line, I am sure this is not news to anyone..

As for the SRT-4.. watch the F out for these cars! Stage 3 was just realesed for this car and it is an ANIMAL... It's a complete turbo upgrade with add on's.. There is only the test mule out now running at the tracks. but expect these cars to trap in the 1/4 at anywhere btwn. 115-125... Now ET's are going to be a different story because it's FWD and traction is practically an Urban myth when it comes to these cars..

From a roll on the highway though.. say goodbye and good night..

Are you talking about racing on a track or racing on the street.. I don't know where you live, but I have NEVER raced anyone for more then a 20-30 secod sprint on the highway.. and as for the roads being curvy enough to really let the advantage of the EVO shine, NOT likely. On a track, well that's another story, but it doesn't seem to be what the original poster had in mind.

You can add the biturbo S4 in the mix too. stock for stock... Ive beaten a stock EVO from a roll to about 80.

I just did a roll on comparison with a new S4 this morning. I pulled on him slightly. Granted it was 35 deg and dry (perfect for a turbo)

I think he was a little surprised with his 340 bhp.

s4 is too heavy, too slow for a v8.

I was clear: I didn't mention the cost/performance ratio. Just pure performance on highways and straight ahead. I can make a good deal on a Ferrari F355 1997/1998 with 8000 miles... it is not so expensive.
I think that an Evo in stock form is a weak car from a roll compared with V8... but with some mods it can beat most of the cars listed. My Z28 ran equal from a roll in 4th gear with a Ferrari 360 Modena... If I find a V8 on the road I will tell you how my car performed.

OK

I compared my stock 05 evo with a RsxS the other day...he couldnt keep up...he was a decent driver too. But he didnt have TURBO POWER. Its not a bad car at all but is still a honda . As for the SRT4s it all depends whos hands its in.
