Question HKS EIDS, does it really work?

Just curious to hear from other members if the EIDS actually works? Is it really a cure all for those looking to vta?

EIDS.....Engine Idle Stablizer. Somehow this unit will prevent any stalling or idle issues when your bov is vented to atmosphere. I want to know if it actually works.

I'm having problems with my EIDS. When I hooked it up my CEL came on, the rpm stays at 2000. And I get an early fuel cut at 5500rpm so I can rev past 5500. I tried to switch to wires tapped into PIN 90 and I still get the CEL, but I didn't check to see if I would get the fuel cut. I just didn't like the sight of the CEL. But if you or anybody finds out anything that I don't know about the EIDS please PM me and let me know.

I just purchased one used. What kind of harness would I need for installation and how would I install it?

Don't get it it kills performance. Just Recirculate the BOV or buy a standalone or some way to eliminate or relocate the MAF. The EIDS just simply dampens the MAF signal, so therefore it takes a while for the computer to realize how much air is actualy getting to the motor. and 9 out of 10 times the MIL will come on.

I guess some owners like myself will never understand why anyone would want or need the "cool sound" but everyone is free to do to their vehicle as they please.

Yes it does when i put my intake and bov on the car when i would get to a light or stop the car it would die on me everytime. So i got one of theses units and it worked great you have to fine tune it along with your ecu to get the best results out of it. But if you dont want to spend the extra money you can just set it up though the unit itself it might take you a few trys but it works.

It really helped out when i put the cams on the car and when used with the AC my car always wanted to die. But i kept it on for over a year and it worked everytime. Its a great product
