trade in for srt4 or evo 8
I would recommend getting the srt-4....with the stage 3r coming out, it should be a blast too drive. You may hear that the handling is poor, but bilstein has a set of shocks for the car; along with sway bars, the driving would be fun. (I cant imagine service as a whole is much worse than Mitsu.)
Along with the stage 3r, you can get a factory intercooler sprayer, 100oct button (changes fuel/timing map, and finally an integrated boost controller; you can choose 4 boost settings from 0 to 3. S*it, even Subaru has bad *** factory parts (as seen at SEMA)

The EVO is almost a sec faster then the SRT...how is that going to be a close race?????
Put a intake and full exhaust system on the Evo and you got a 12.5 sec car. (if you don't believe me I will be happy to post a link)
Put more then that on a srt and they are barly hitting 13.3's...

I had a real real real hard time deciding between the 2 cars, I bought the srt-4 because it was faster from a roll, cheaper, has factory staged upgrade packages, way nicer interior, wont void my warranty if i autocross
However, We just put a deposit on a new 05 Evo RS, so we will have both anyways..
We test drove a 05 Evo 8, the neon still feels way faster, my finace' will be driving the evo, one thing she commented on was the fact that the evo was too quiet, the srt-4 sounds way better with its mufflerless exaust.The all wheel drive is nice if you drive in the winter, but unfortunately it adds to the drivetrain loss on the dyno, thats probably why the car dosent feel too fast, my fiance' test drove it, she didnt think it felt all that fast either. And unfortunately upgrading the car puts us in serious risk of voiding our warranty.
Again, I'm not trying to be one of those people that are like "I drive a srt-4 and its the best car on the road, I will kill everything", I hate people like that. The srt-4 is still a neon, a cheap *** base car, same as the lancer. With the srt-4 u get a great power plant, and decent suspension, the Evo has a great power plant and great suspension.

How about all you folks that think the Evo is the best car in the world and a srt-4 sucks give it a rest. They are both awesome cars, both are here because of the sucess of the WRX, Try to be a car guy instead of a Evo guy.

What is your definition of the two? A heavily modified SRT means turbo upgrade, fmic, 3" exhaust...the works. This means 400 hp monster with 120+ mph traps.
