How's about scanning your bill of sale to back up your claim?

Went to another dealer and they have several 04's and they first tried the whole I'll split the Invoice and MSRP. I told them thats insane. They said they would take a couple hundred over invoice. I still think thats a crappy deal. I would understand if I was doing a trade in but just buying this as a third car. So just wanted to see what everyone else has been getting. I think I should be able to get an 04' under the invoice and an 05' for some where inbetween the invoice and the MSRP.
For now, you can't get the '05 Evos under invoice, if your lucky to find one good deal, goodluck!

I'd like to see that too. Maybe cars are a bit pricier out here in Ahnoldfornia. I did a nationwide average of asking price of private party USED silver 03 8's w/wing and sunroof using cars.com, autotrader, kbb, and NADA and it came out to 26.8

I do not really feel comfortable with posting my invoice as it states information on the price of my trade in and such. But let me take another look at it.

but i also want to add that JBA in MD offered to sell me their red 2004 RS for 25k. What I did was call and told them that Rockville was willing to sell me their RS for 1k under invoice....JBA was willing to deal, but unwilling to go below 25k for the RS they had in stock. But also if you look at their site they have a silver 2004 GSR for 26.8k on special, so 26.8k for a used 2003 GSR in my opinion is a bit high..

Sidenote for some reason the silver ones are cheaper/easier to make a deal with, as Stohlman's at Tyson's corner was willing to make a good deal on the one they had on the lot too. If I remember correctly 28k was the price they laid out in front of me, maybe silver is a hard color to move???

Yeah Stohlmans had 2 2004 silvers left the other day. I was talking to them about the tarmac black and some dealer in VA Beach was interested in buying from them for someone. So best they would do is just over invoice. The cars still there so I'll give them a week and then talk to them again.

If Mitsubishi dealers keep on marking up on their cars, thats whats going to put them out of business.....

It looks like Mitsubishi has put a dealer incentive on the 04 cars, just as they did on the 03 EVOs. In addition they pretty much always have the $500 owner loyalty if you or anyone with your address owns any mitsu product.

So at this point I can see getting a 04 car for 1k under invoice from a modivated dealer. In March or so of this year my local guy was sitting on 4 03 cars and pretty much went straight to 1k off invoice when I walked in the door. So dealers, especially the ones that might have ordered an 04 for someone who did not go through on the deal, might be highly modivated.

I'm figuring that the 05 cars will have similar deals available. Unless Mitsubishi, or their dealers, are getting a better idea of EVO demand, and are adjusting their orders accordingly.

Count yourself lucky when you compare the prices the rest of the world pays for EVOs. They are very cheap in the US.

hayes mitzu... in nashville has a new 2003 yellow viii [gsr] and a 2005 white mr and a 2004 red rs with about 200 mles on it, called new.
they are not doing a lot on the prices yet at least they weren't a couple of weeks ago when i talked to them about price. they keep saying they don't have to come off msrp because they are selling so good, to which i reply then why the 03 and 04 they don't answer that one ?!?!?

I just got an 05 standard Evo for between MSRP and invoice. I was happy enough with the deal. I got a several hundred $$ of MSRP - I don't expect the dealer to give me the car. They have to make some money. They had a couple of 04's if I wanted to really try for the lowest price.

I think mrdci has the right approach. Paying close to invoice for the previous model year is normal...unless we're talking exotics of course. However, if you're looking to pay invoice on an '05 (especially in late November of '04) your best bet is to contact the fleet manager of a dealership that does a lot of volume. I've bought 3 cars in the last 6 years and never paid more than $800 over invoice on any of them....and at the time the '02 Spec V was Nissan's sportiest car (pre-350Z days) and the '04 SRT-4 was being marked up by as much as $5k-$7k when they first hit the dealer lots in October of '03. You just have to be patient and not get your heart all set on a car. That old saying "good things come to those who wait" is pretty true in my experience.

BTW...I went by my local Mitsu dealer on Saturday to see if they had received any '05 Evo models yet. They had 2 MR's on the showroom floor. Both were marked up well over MSRP. The worst part is that one of them had 500 miles on it and they were selling it as new. The sales guy told me the owner of the dealership bought the car for his nephew but after 2 weeks (and 500 miles) the spoiled little bastard said he wanted an automatic instead. That kid needs to be beaten to death with an MR shift knob.

I work for a Mitsu dealer and regardless of what u may have heard ot think.

Most dealers are not going to sell a car under invoice, unless there is a sizeable dealer cash incentive and they may make a few hundred on the vehicle. AS for getting a a truck or other popular MASS produced cars.. yes those deals are out there on car that are selling slow Ya GM Will take $10K off msrp on a $50K suburban. I Have people come in every day asking to get them out of Gas guzzler suv or truck. Mitsu does not have a a huge markup on their cars .. IE a ralliart only has 600-800 markup ,, evo around $1800. We Work with people on evos will sell for a few hundred over invoice.
I dont work for free and i know none of u do either. So amount over invoice is reasonable.. U do want a dealer to stay in Biz to service your evo.
