why would a dealer rather have cash over fin. with fin the dealer make even more money because they are working witht the banks and the banks kick back to the dealer?

Again...it is not that the dealer would rather have cash...I offered cash as a way to avoid the financing trap. They jumped at it because they want to sell the cars ASAP. I suppose that if a buyer shows up who they can trick into financing the car with an outrageously high interest rate (which they get a kick back from!) they most likely will do it.

Unfortunately, for them I don't need their financing. Lastly, I think the dealership is also having money problems as well...and they need to clear out more of their inventory to get more liquid.

Nah.... (well I don't know) but I got that deal on a 2003 EVO. That woman who sends all those e-mails (was it Jamie? It's one week ago and I deleted it right away) told me to come down to get a 2003 EVO with 500miles for 23000$.

Can't believe it but I'm not interested anyway....

I think some places would rather have cash to avoid (the chance of someone) defaulting on a loan.

financing doesn't work that way, the BANK holds the loan not the dealer. The dealer gets paid from the bank and they usually give them a kick back for sending a customer there way. To the dealer it doesn't matter if it is cash or financing, they still get paid in FULL.

This thread is way too funny, first off if it was me I would have bought either one on the spot. Why did you need to think about it, BS to me, you must not even want an evo let alone an Mr. Just my opinion.

Have fun cause if it is true then both are now gone.

PS. I just bought both over the phone and paid cash, JK
