trade in evo?

I know you guys are biased towards the EVO, but i was thinking about trading it in when the '05 Pontiac GTO comes out. I test drove an '04, and fell in love. I dont autocross, and I dont really feel like i put the EVO to its limits enough to own something that is built for turns. The interior of the GTO is 100x better than the EVO, IMHO, and it has cruise control, and gets 29 mpg on the highway. Anyway, I just thought I would see what you guys thought about it......thanks

I'd wait for Ford to release the new Cobra. If the power is anything near the 03's I would at least wait for a press release before making a decision.

I perosnally don't buy cars for thier interiors if it's a perormance car. Cruise control is overrated. I've had it on one car I've owned and hardly ever used it.

Nothing wrong with the GTO. Its fast with a big V8. Parts are probably going to be cheap, and its a more comfortable car than the EVO.

The EVO is brutal, and I love mine. However, I dont think I could stand it as a daily driver.

If You Like It Then Trade It In For The Gto.
Don't Worry What Other Think Because You Are The One Who's The Drive The Car

If you want that V8 torque and grunt... And the gas mileage is never any good in a V-8 unless you have serious restraint!! But, for such a car I wish it would perform better than it does... You get that GTO, and I'll be passin you by eventually.. Then you'll be missin the EVO lots!! Hahaha.. Go for what you feel you need bro.. I'm not knockin you.. I can just say from experience that it's really hard to downgrade to a car that isn't up to par from what you're used to... That's why it's good to have a second car that you can relax in, that isn't "Performance" specific... If I want to chill, I drive the wife's SUV... When I'm ready to rock, it's all about the EVO and nothing else..!! Good luck in your decision...

Get what you like. If the Evo is your only car you'd probably be better off with something a little more comfortable anyway.

the 05s are supposed to have 400 Hp I think. Not many Evos will be passing them. I'd say go for it of you have your heart set on it. It's the only pontiac that i would ever drive, maybe since it's a Holden with pontica badging.

Thumbs up

Unless your totally focused on performance, people shouldn't look at an evo. For everyone else there's cars like an M3, S4, GTO...... You may not push the car to it's limits but you just might miss the fact that the car you own right now WILL cut a corner like a scalpel and has real potential to go straight if that's the goal. You may take the Evo for granted is all I'm saying. Be sure before you jump!

IF you are looking for RWD V8, I have heard that the new Mustang is a better deal. I didn't realize that the 05 Goat was going up to 400 HP. The 'stang isn't 400, but with the lower sticker price, you could have some fun with mods.

I kinda like the GTO, but have issue with the looks.

I agree with the one comment that you may be taking the EVO's offerings for granted and will miss them in a GTO. The grass can look greener over the fence.....

Buy a used C5 Corvette, a Z06 even. As the new (and sexy) C6 is now out, the C5 values will plummet. You might be able to pick up a used Z06 for mid $30K.
