In dash screen with dvd?

I dont really know much about this topic but, I was thinking about purchasing an in dash dvd system for my evo for christmas... What kind of price ranges am I looking at for one of these and can anyone tell me about some of the make/models that are pretty popular when it comes down to this? Any links to some sites that may support this would be great also, thanks a lot.

pioneer avic-n1 has the most features. It's got Nav and alot of other cool stuff. Cost is going to be anywhere from $750 to over $2000. Go to www.crutchfield.com and go to mobile video. They carry quite a few and have all the specs and details for them. Good Luck

All the top makers make nice units. You can buy a basic alpine or Kenwood with no nav for $800, The pioneer unit is great, but it's Extra $$. Most of them have the same features, so it's mostly a taste preference. I use a Kenwood Excelon KVT-815 with The optional Nav module, Sirius Sattelite tuner and Hard Drive Keg, about $1800 for all of it.

Check you local laws also because alot of states, it is against the law to have a video screen in front of the driver. The Navigation type is okay because it is not moving video.

I have the Alpine IVA-D300 cost me around 1600 installed with the E-brake disabled. It plays everything WMA MP3 DVD SVCDs(so any movie I get off the net I can watch on it ) It has a vibrating touch screen so when you push the screen it actually feels like a button. I have had it since May and it wors great. Alpine also has the new I- Drive for the Ipod too so you can control the Ipod with it aswell.

i have an alpine iva-d900. it does everything any of the other top models do, but has better resolution. i got mine at a great deal (1750 installed). navigation, tv tuner, satelite radio, can display seperate outputs on rear screens. I prefer buttons as opposed to touchscreen but either is nice. You get more fingerprints on the screen with touchscreen. If all you care about is the screen part, just get something basic for <1000. If you want all the bells and whistles, plan on spending about 2 G's.

I just found it. It has 7.5 MB instead of 64 KB memory, comes with an XM traffic link to tell you when there are traffic delays or accidents and such, different skins to choose from to match the interior of your car, as well as a little better quality audio and video related. I think that is the jist of it.
