Nice graph. Realistly, How fast past 87 mph (3rd gear) will you drive before you run into the danger of getting a speeding ticket just to reep the benefits of the 6 speed gearbox? Not me.

The graph shows the 6-spd has benefits in racing by keeping rpms up when shifting, but don't dwell on the redline values; the 6-spd also helps if you shift at lower rpms. Close-ratio gearboxes are used to keep an engine in its powerband, obviously, and this will help you both on the street (even under normal driving) and on the racetrack. If you don't plan to race your Evo, why buy one? (and I'm not talking about street-racing)

Dyno4mance dyno a few 05's and made 225whp stock. ((someone please correct me if I'm wrong)) the stock 03-04's only make about 205 + or - a few HP. hope this help.

You are wrong. 03 Evos make about 220-230 at the wheels.

You don't need to race to own one. I bought it because it an Evo, always wanted one. Everything is already done on the car, meaning stuff that people do to their imports nowadays, performance, looks, and to show it off. It's like asking why buy a Viper if you are not going to go 200mph?

OK, that explains why you're perfectly happy with the 5-spd!

You're right, and it really depends on what you want. My car was driven by an instructor at the last EOC event at Willow Springs. He himself owns a GSR and here's what he had to say:

Anyway, obviously subjective, but I thought you might like to hear what a professional thought.

If that chart is accurate, then on stock turbo EVO's the 1/4 mile time between the GSR and MR should be darn close..... this is based on the idea that the stock turbo is good for mid 11's at around 120 in the 1/4 mile. After upgrading the turbo the MR will have a huge advantage when trap speeds get into the area where you need to shift to 5th gear.

No, your wrong, if you'll pay attention to what I said. they(03-04) make about 205 on a dyno dynamics. Click here . scroll down to the #19 post by Andrew from Dyno4mance. Now are you gonna argue with him. thanks

Yeah, because you think every Evo built is the same, how ignorant is that. It all depends on the luck of the draw. Some may make 200, some up to 235. Just depended on how it was built the day it was bulit.

Hahahah. listen to yourself. if anyone is ignorant it's you. I promise you want find a stock 03 that makes 235whp on a dyno dynamics dyno. If you really thank the differences in build is gonna very from 35whp. you are definately the ignorate one. that's like saying my car makes 270 crank hp and Joe Blow's EVo make 250 or 290. I know there's usually varies 5-10 whp on average, but not 35whp. there would have to be some kinda boost leak, vac. leak, etc... to make a car read 35whp off from another. It's like me driving around with a mbc and tb exhaust and another 03 that is stock making the same. hahahaha... if you can prove it to me. I'll believe you. other wise I'm gonna have to say your the ignorate one. I believe Andrew would know what he's talking about. It's his dyno that I'm referring to. I understand on a dynojet or dynopack stock evo's (03's and 04's) usually make about 220-230 whp. some maybe be a little more but that's about average for the 03's-04's. have a nice day.

Yup, 100% correct. My car made 232 WHP stock on a dynapack dyno. After many mods I was making 333 WHP on a dyno dynamics dynometer. After just a couple more mods I made 411 WHP back on the dynapack .... about what I expected and I would expect to get 350 WHP on the dyno dynamics right now if I went back there.

It was a simple example genious. Where in my post did I say these were actual numbers? Point it out and I will "believe you". Thats funny. Im not trying to argue with you here, just stating the obvious, that it is impossible to have identical cars. Agree or disagree? Have a nice day bud.
