Just depends on the driver. I would think, just seems logical to me, that in a drag race a 5 speed would do better then a 6. just depends on how the first 4 gears are on the 6 compared to the 5. If you have to shift into 5 on a 6 speed. that would kill your time a 1/10th or so. also from what I understand. that 5hp differences is a little under rated. Dyno4mance dyno a few 05's and made 225whp stock. ((someone please correct me if I'm wrong)) the stock 03-04's only make about 205 + or - a few HP. hope this help.

05 gsr's are faster than 03 gsr's but not as fast as MR due to closer ratio of 6sp, less unsprung weights, etc in MR... MR pulls harder after 3th gear for sure. I test drove both cars when I bought my car...

but less unsprung weight is a benefit of the MR, and in the handling dept. it has a center ofgravity that is two inches lower than the reg. evo

the car is not 2 inches lower then the evo its 2mm lower but the roof is aluminum. less weight thats y its has a lower center fo gravity if you take evo 8 and want to get the same result with the steel roof you would have to lower the car 2 inches or get the same result.

From what I read, the first 5 gears on the 6 speed are indentical (very close at least) to the 5 speeds, and the 6th gear is almost just like an addition, I read this in 2 magazine articles, however I dont have any actual numbers to support this... someone find the gear ratios!

BTW I highly doubt the 05s are noticeably faster than the 03s... esp the MR being its heavier

Exactly what I thought.... until 3rd gear GSR and MR feels about same but after 4th, MR pulls lil harder plus FGR is also different between GSR and MR

Only 22lbs difference between MR and GSR... that probably equals out with MR's less unsprung weight... but if you are getting Sunroof, Leather, etc... GSR being HEAVIEST... like mine...

I don't remember who created this, but it will help the newbies see how the 6-spd affects things.
