No, but the District Sales Rep from Mitsu is here in the store right now. I'm just waiting for my chance to hound him for more firm details. Last time he was in he caught me looking over his shoulder into his notebook. I could swear I saw some pricing in there.

So were assuming the ACD and AYC diffs in the JDM car are automatically heavier then the ones in the car we're getting, and we're assuming that we're comparing curb weight to curb weight and not dry weight. My point is it seems like you guys are drawing too many conclusions without having all the facts available. If not what are the weights of the ACD and AYC units, and the weights of the tranny in the JDM car and the one in the USDM car? Sorry about the duplicate post, please delete the second one.

Just yesterday I received a few spec sheets that came from a fellow tech that returned from EVO training in Jersey. The weight is 3268 for the model without sunroof and about another 40 lbs. extra for the sunroof model. I dont have access to a scanner otherwise I would show them. Hp is 271 with torque of 273 lbs. Im happy with the specs but dissapointed in the weight. Its a heavy one alright!!
I will be going to speak personally to him one of these days on my lunch break. From what I heard they actually worked on the car (im not sure if it was a 7 or an 8, although I cant see them using a 7). I will post any extra info I can.
I'm talking to our District Sales Rep right now and even though he did not bring his spec sheet with him he says he recalls the wieght being well below 3,000lb.

Hmmmmmm.

I'll have to dig a little deeper since I would expect the Tech training numbers to be accurate. Our techs don't get the training until next week so I have not seen this spec document yet myself.

The peak HP number IS understated though, due to what is going on with Hyundai and also because of what happened at Ford a couple of years ago with the Cobra. Mitsubishi is being very cautious. Real HP at the crank is supposed to be around 300.

I'm not so sure Mitsubishi is worried about any litigation against them for overrating the car. They could do regular crank HP and be okay. Nissan had to cut back on their ratings on both the 350Z and Spec-V according to SCC. And I understand the whole Ford Hyundai snafu. Dodge is supposedly underrating the SRT-4. I think its just one more mind game for Subaru, to keep them from knowing exactly whats going on under the hood of Mitsu's new baby. That way when/if the Sti appears, 300+ is just a tweak and a penstroke away.

woohoo! 2.1 turns lock to lock steering is awesome!
I got 2.2, which is fabulous

The impreza STi only has a miserable 2.6 steering

Lock to lock steering is only 1/2 the equation...how is the turning radius on the two? See the 2.6 L to L on the WRX is partly offset by the tighter turning radius. So if you turn 2.1 turns on the wrx, are you turning just as tight as the evo but with the option of going more if you want. The numbers on the steering specs are really not enough to tell us the whole tale.
